albertogalca··on Things That Used to Be Normal and Are Now a Luxury
A small city in Spain. You can find them, but they haven’t really evolved in terms of style or what people want nowadays. So, at least for me, I don’t go because I can’t find anything I like, even though I’d like to.

Sorry, I didn’t know I was talking to Cervantes. It’s just my personal blog. It’s a reflection you might not agree with, and that’s totally fine, but why the need to call everything “AI slop”? Of course the writing is mediocre. I’m not a writer, I just like writing.

That's a great question, I don't know :(

Noted, thank you :)

You nailed it!

Author here: I always wash my clothes in cold water, 100% of the time. I really don't know what happened, but the T-shirt was already ruined after 3 or 4 washes. Any advice is more than welcome :)

Yes, you can still get a paper menu, but you need to ask for it in many places. Also, in Asia, for example, many places require you to order using a tablet, and for me, that's not appealing at all. But yes, you can still live with it, of course.

About point 3, yes, you can find local products, but 95% of the products in supermarkets, at least in Spain where I live, have more than 10 ingredients.

Very true
albertogalca··on Things That Used to Be Normal and Are Now a Luxury
Yes, you can find these things at a good price, but, for example, not all natural fibers are the same. I buy 100% cotton T-shirts that have undergone certain processes that still make them pretty poor quality. That's why it's complicated to find these things easily nowadays. I understand your point, and in the end, there's no other option but to stay informed.
albertogalca··on I'm building another journal app
For me, Obsidian is not focused on journaling. It’s important for me to have this app separate because I don’t want to mix my journaling with other things. Right now, I have everything in Bear plus a physical journal, but I would like to have one app that is only for journaling.

But of course, it’s my preference. You can absolutely use Obsidian.

albertogalca··on I'm building another journal app
Hi!

I’ve been writing in a journal since around 2019. Not every day or consistently, but I’ve built up quite a few entries.

I tried Day One at one point and loved it. However, when I discovered Obsidian, I realized how important it was to store my files on my own computer. To actually own them. To be responsible for them. I didn't want to depend on someone else’s servers or business decisions.

Since then, I haven’t been able to find a journaling app that truly fits what I want:

- Fully local files

- One time payment

- No subscription lock in

- Simple, focused on writing and preserving memories

- Optional AI tools you can use when you want, but never forced on you

Most apps either push subscriptions, store everything in the cloud, or try to become productivity systems instead of personal memory spaces.

So I’m building the app I’ve been looking for.

A simple journaling app designed around ownership, longevity, and flexibility. Your files stay on your computer. You can explore them with AI if you want to. Or ignore it completely.

If this resonates with you, I’ve put up a small landing page with a waitlist. I’d love to share progress as I build it.

Would love to hear your thoughts too.

albertogalca··on Publish Your macOS App Outside the App Store
Like you, I’m not a big fan of Gumroad. I’ll be checking out other options soon.

I don’t mind paying a fee if it helps avoid annoyances too.

Ideally, I’d like to upload directly to the App Store without disrupting my current UX. Let's see if I can find a good solution for this :)

albertogalca··on Publish Your macOS App Outside the App Store
In my case, I couldn't upload the app directly to the App Store without compromising its user experience. I had to take some extra steps that I wasn't happy about.

Regarding the provider, I totally agree — it's not the best option. However, I didn't want to deal with payments at the outset. How would you approach this?
