In before someone recommends building UPI on the blockchain and having region specific rollups to settle transactions offchain, that also uses a bluetooth mesh network to communicate with all nodes.
(just a joke, this won't work due to limitations of data storage and blockspace, without even going into the can of worms that is governments interacting with a "independent" blockchain)
Why? I am so tired of certain section of Indians online pretending that somehow all entertainment should be dictated as per their sensibilities of what's acceptable and what's not. What's wrong in having movies that are over the top? Everyone has different tastes. What's worthwhile for you maybe boring for someone else. I am not saying you have to start appreciating RRR if it's not something that you enjoy, but don't invalidate an experience that millions of people clearly enjoyed. I can appreciate a K Balachander, Gopalkrishnan, Satyajit Ray masterpiece while also hooting for Bheem in RRR. The greatest achievement of Indian cinema is how varied our repertoire is and there is something for everyone to enjoy. Celebrate it, don't be embarrassed about it.
I think this is more common than people realize. Especially in the Indian subcontinent, where most people have a smartphone but only few have a PC. I learnt programming on pen and paper first and then on those phone IDEs even before I had access to a pc. And even after a PC, I used to use my phone as a display for my desktop via chrome remote desktop because my monitor got damaged and only showed shades of green. And my case wasn't even that extreme, I was just not that bothered to get a proper setup until I really got into programming. The situation is way more difficult who are constrained by their financial situation and have to find a way around it.
Hmm the X Chip difference makes sense, because they are the same chip with the regular one built to be mobile. But in case of M2, the same distinction doesn't make sense because they are built for larger devices by default. Though I guess, they could have two completely separate chips and just use the X as convention.
Hmm, the discrete GPU would be interesting, but I don't think would go back to that. The SoC model has been working out great for Apple, I can't see them seceding control to get a discrete 3rd-party GPU working.
Oh yeah, that could be it. Apple's Pro Display XDR with an ARM processor would be interesting, though the question is are the M SoCs ready to drive those yet?
hmm, no. While compile-time type check[0] for SQL queries changes your whole experience of how you do SQL, at the end of the day creating an webapp in rust is not as easy or mature as any of the other languages more suited for the task. If you want to learn, then its fine. But if you are newish to rust and want to do your next CRUD app at work in rust, I don't think its going to a good experience.
Disregarding all allegations, Huawei is one of the bigger tech companies and is one that has its finger in every pie, especially across domains where rust is advertised as a better alternative to incumbent C/C++. I can see why they are on the board.
Actually, Stripe is a really good one. Shopify, I dunno, I can't see it meshing too well with Google's current products or google even doing a good job developing Shopify further, especially after being acquired at more than 100B$ valuation. But a Stripe acquisition, I think, will be mutually profitable.
Hmm, I see a few publication using the `cloud kitchen` term in a generic way. But maybe if I opened a business, maybe they will see that as trying to take advantage of an existing brand. No idea if that's how trademark works.
Any source on that? I tried searching for it, seems like Kalanick does have a new venture called CloudKitchens but can't find anything on whether the phrase 'cloud kitchen' itself is trademarked.
Yeah. But it is still Netflix controlling both end, they are just extending their supply chain to include more indie creators but at the end of the day who gets to get on the platform and how much they can earn isn't a direct function of that creator and their audience. That economy is not a directly individualistic economy like the other examples. But I would really like to see a mix of kickstarter and patreon for indie creators that can run parallel to the OTT platforms, enabling them to create more ambitious projects and enabling their audience to directly support it.
but to be a biggest acquisition, it has to be a few years old unicorn with a solid revenue models at this point. And among the current ones, I can't think of any that would give Google an opportunity to diversify from their click-based ad revenue. Until they do something radical and acquire robinhood or coinbase.
Hmm, I was not putting the blame on Apple here, rather Wistron. While indirectly, Apple may be responsible for Wistron's behavior, most of the fault lies with Wistron and how they are used to treat their employees as disposable, while chasing higher margins.
Recently, Apple's supplier, Wistron faced revolt after treating workers unfairly here in India. And India is not really the most shining example of protecting our workers from unfair and harsh working conditions. So, if such treatments don't fly here, I don't think they will fly anywhere else. The kind of labor expectation that these companies have after their stints in China is ethically incompatible with most other countries. So, I can't see the condition improving in the near future, companies will continue chasing profits at all cost and China will remain the most fertile ground to do that.
