akosednar··on Truffle: Finds business deductions in your personal spending history
Would you ever open it up to past years? I would love to go back to see if I missed anything in a past year. I could then maybe refile and get back some money.
akosednar··on Motion sensing using the doppler effect
How does this work with other noises and interference?
akosednar··on A Full Hardware Guide to Deep Learning
No, but a K80 isn't really meant for workstations (from what I understand). Plus, it's $7k while a 980 is sub $1k typically.
akosednar··on Airline flights of the world visualized with WebGL
The author's specific code can be found here: https://github.com/callumprentice/callumprentice.github.io/t...

Where he loads the flights in can be found in js/flights_one.js

akosednar··on Washboard – Ships you rolls of quarters for laundry
Agreed. Why should I pay $4.99 for quarters when I could go to the bank and get them for free?
akosednar··on Waffle.io
And there seems to be no validation of the localStorage. I could set it to 0.000001 for example and it would work.
akosednar··on Myjson – A simple JSON store for your web or mobile app
Looks just like the design/functionality of http://www.jsoneditoronline.org/ which seems to be an older project
akosednar··on When the IRS 'likes' your Facebook update
I think all they have to do is litterally like or retweet your post.

Imagine the fear of someone when the IRS likes your post.

You would definately do your taxes right after that because you'd think they knew what you are up to.

akosednar··on A Robot for Timo – cheap telepresence for remote teams
Any plans on making one that can move around on wheels?
akosednar··on Atom
Interesting, this has been in development since sometime in November of 2013
akosednar··on Are HN comments broken for everyone?
Also same here. Work works but home doesn't. DNS returned the same ip, cleared cache, cleared cookies (and tried incognito),..etc..

Edit: Back now

akosednar··on I sent a balloon up to capture 360x180 degree imagery/video from 100K feet
Wow! Seriously congrats! I expected it to be just another weather balloon launch but by correcting the rotation issues you made the project not only more challenging but more enjoyable to read and view! (I also love your blog)

Will you be doing more future projects like this?

akosednar··on Canadian scientists create a functioning, virtual brain
If you have an account with a university they probably have a subscription to the library. (You will need to login to the university tho).

ASU students, for example, can access it here for free: http://www.sciencemag.org.ezproxy1.lib.asu.edu/content/338/6...

akosednar··on SVG, Use it Already
I get worried when I see SVG....I don't want Javascript and CSS embedded in something that I might over look and think is an image....
akosednar··on Amazon EC2 Instance Comparison
What virtualization did you need? Proxmox can be installed via the robot interface. Citrix Xen can be installed using a remote install.
akosednar··on Show HN: My Project, One month later
I did! Thanks!

Wow very neat! I love the visualization! Are you going to possibly add an api in the future?
