aklofas··on So long, Retina
Wow, that's kind of petty. The author is never going to find the perfect laptop. There are always going to be some issues, so deal with it. While I am always in favor of throwing out apple products (apple sucks), this article is just stupid.
aklofas··on Google rejects White House request to pull Mohammad film clip
That movie is terrible. I think it should be censored based on quality and acting alone.
aklofas··on Kevin Rose Interviews Elon Musk
Damn it, I thought of Charlie Rose. Who is this Kevin blow-hard?
aklofas··on The Tim Cook memo: line by line
Apple sucks.
aklofas··on Apple Wins Patent Ruling As Jury Finds Samsung Infringes
Agree. Apple sucks.
aklofas··on A Cautionary Tale: Do not move or rename your iCloud folder
Ubuntu One ftw :)
aklofas··on Show HN: BigVideo.js
Not on linux though. Wasn't working for me.
aklofas··on Show HN: Indoor Location you can try yourself
Does this adapt it's map on the fly like a true SLAM, or does it only work off the access points detected during the configuration phase?
aklofas··on Sea Water Antenna System
Yay for old news!
aklofas··on Anic - Faster than C, Safer than Java, Simpler than *sh
I'm pretty sure anic is fake and the website was built by a troll. My brain cannot find any meaning and any of the code. It's just gibberish
aklofas··on DoubleRobotics: Telepresence gets sexy (and made in the USA)
Very cool.

There is a sense of irony in that Trevor Blackwell along with the other YC partners are backing a company that essentially wants to put AnyBots out of business.

Interesting none-the-less though.

aklofas··on One Thousand Dollars an Hour
To quoteth: "It's easy to use on your iPhone, iPod touch, iPad. Cheddar is ... instantly in sync on all of your devices"

I don't think he understands what the word all means. Just me 2cents.

aklofas··on .mail app
Really? Cocoa and Objective-C are ungodly messes that best be avoided, me thinks.
aklofas··on Raspberry Pi launched by balloon broadcasts images from 40km high
I don't know what they used, it probably was on the Hambands. On our balloon, we transmitted APRS mostly for tracking and retrieval. They could have set up ATV or some other custom protocol.
aklofas··on Flow-Based Programming for Node.js
Nice, I haven't read that yet. They even have the author there. He must be getting pretty old :)
aklofas··on Flow-Based Programming for Node.js
FBP is an awesome idea, the problem is that it's been largely ignored for a long time. One of these days the right time and space for this technology will come and it'll grow like a weed. That usually happens with technology that ahead of it's time.

So, good sir. Whilst I do not agree with what you flame, I'll fight to the death for your right to flame it.

aklofas··on Motorola's Montage Javascript app framework
Is it just me or are all the examples slow as balls. I thought there was a js rendering error or something, but no, the kitchen sink took 30 seconds to load!?!
aklofas··on Judge grants Apple an injunction against the Galaxy Nexus
You're absolutely right. The next tablet will look like this: http://allthingsd.com/files/2011/12/triangle_tablet.png
aklofas··on Higher-order programming in C
There is a macro way to do this. It involves lots of magic and beating the preprocessor with a two-by-four: https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups#!topic/comp.lang...

Go down this hole with caution.

aklofas··on Orbitz shows costlier hotel options to Mac users
I completely disagree with you. An average mac developer who frequents this site is just as intelligent as other developers who frequent this site :)
aklofas··on FuckItJS: Runs your javascript code whether your compiler likes it or not.
Yep, the commits are funny too: https://github.com/mattdiamond/fuckitjs/commit/001b146fc9dc6...
aklofas··on We will try to stop fixing bugs in PHP
sed s/PHP/Ruby/g :)
aklofas··on Google will start warning Chinese users about problematic search terms
Since when is McDonalds a sensitive/censored query? (And why?)
aklofas··on Ask HN: What are you Building?
I'm typing up this reply...
aklofas··on ISPs to start policing copyright by July 12
Interesting. I'm just waiting for the ISP's to get sued for breach of contract for throttling customers internet. If a neighbor (for example) logs onto router and starts downloading, I can imagine there'll be lots of false positives. And lawyers love false positives.
aklofas··on The FBI's files on Steve Jobs
Who knows, man. He could have solved world peace, cured aids and cancer, gone back in time and killed Hitler. Instead, this happened. I guess we'll never know...
aklofas··on On pirates and piracy
I believe the point he was trying to make here is that who owns the copyright doesn't matter. If the company is willing to sue you and into bankruptcy and you don't have the money to fight back, you're screwed. "Justice" doesn't matter.
aklofas··on Piracy - You can't have your cake and eat it
Windows doesn't write driver software either. It's up to the hardware companies to make their hardware compatible if they want to sell it. Windows just happens to have the largest market share. If Linux had even one tenth the share of windows, drivers wouldn't be an issue.
aklofas··on Piracy - You can't have your cake and eat it
> What happens if nobody pays for a copy of Linux 3.2? There won't be a Linux 3.4.

I think the business model needs to change a bit. That's all.

aklofas··on The AI-Box Experiment
You make a good point. But let's switch up the characters a bit. Let the AI be 'God' and let you be the entire human race. And instead of giving you the decision to 'let God out of the box', you have the decision to 'accept Jesus'.

Is your mind blown yet?
