As a customer, I feel entitled to take advantage of everything I can. I don't understand the negativity around it. Us consumers have a salary each month, and we are supposed to get everything we can out of it. It's that simple.
For example, I run Spotify with an ad blocker, so I don't have to pay for it. And years ago, when they limited the amount of minutes of music you could listen to every month, I made tons of accounts to bypass that limitation. Why? Because, in the unlikely case they go out of business, by then some other service would've appeared, run by someone who thinks he won't commit the same mistakes the owners of the previous service made.
Common sense says my system of abandoning/taking services is not sustainable in the long term, but by now it hasn't failed me. And I'm also sure a sizable percent of people do the same I do. Am I a troll just because I'm open about it?
There's always a free alternative to every service, especially web ones.
I don't think they believe that. Or at least they didn't whine so much about Obama, who was horrible for digital privacy. And Hillary would've continued that legacy, but of course they didn't whine about that either.
I don't know much of NYC but isn't it... huge? I'm sure that there are parts of it far away from Manhattan that aren't shitholes and where you can live with a "normal" wage.
I do that! When you open a conversation with a bot sometimes you don't know what the bot expects you to do to start a conversation, so instead of writing gibberish and expect a help text, I tap "like" because it's only one tap.
The solution, as you just said, is to govern ourselves in a smaller scale. Apply data-driven solutions (like this one from Iceland) to smaller communities, one by one. Also, make sure those who apply these solutions are knowledgeable about how those smaller communities work.
(This is a joke please. Understand it as such. I know reddit has the problems it has because it is severely understaffed)
Do you have (multiprocess|sandbox) enabled for all users of all platforms and compatible with all addons?
For how many years have your competitors had that?
You're years behind, losing market share every month. You like to make it look like it's because Google is pushing Chrome with their money, but your product is simply inferior. And instead of getting engineers, you're wasting your money on political stuff.
The Mozilla project is dying a sad death.
There's a clear shortage of engineers in Mozilla projects. Why isn't the money from donations used for that instead of political stuff?
If the guys over at Mozilla don't want to use the money for engineering purposes, I think they should stop asking for donations and tell people to donate to entirely political projects such as the EFF instead.
The Firefox project is literally years behind in security and performance, I think the Mozilla Foundation doesn't understand how critical the current situation is.
* I consider Firefox OS to be a frivolous waste of money because Gecko is barely bearable on a mid-range desktop computer, how did they even think of putting it in a low-end ARM CPU?
I understand guys here don't like negativity like the one in this comment, but Mozilla being a company that asks for donations, I feel like I can complain about what they do with them.
I believe political correctness triggered Brexit, and will eventually kill the EU (not only because of immigration, though)
