As perceived by the media... the same media who wanted the other candidate to be elected.
What % of Tor traffic is for illegal/immoral/subversive activities?
It doesn't have to be insecure. If the software that does the MITM checks the certificates correctly, I don't see how it would be worse than letting the browser handle it.
Not that I'd ever use an antivirus, of course.
This also means they're transitioning from being a neutral part to being curators.
Knowing Mozilla, the project could be dropped at any time.
And what's even better if you point that out here they'll come with their completely artificial benchmarks to show you how Firefox is x1337 faster than the rest of browsers.
Only that it isn't.
And what really worries me is that they actually believe what they say, which would mean they are refusing to work on making Firefox faster, because they think Firefox is fast already.
Of course. People don't install these VPN apps because they want their traffic to be "secure" or "private". They install them because they want to bypass geographical restrictions for content.
Nobody cares about traffic being insecure, or ads being injected in pages--users just want to see that geolocked video and get on with it.
I bet dang feels stupid for doing that experiment, it looks like the "hn is no-politics zone" meme will stay around for years.
Of course not everybody will quit their job to play a videogame, but what if a significant % of workers were simply "lost" overnight?
And what's even worse: many people turn violent if you don't give them whatever they ask for. So they had to put policemen there all day because they had hit the state workers many times.
You know, I'm a socialist, but these kinds of stories really make me turn libertarian there for a moment.
(This in Europe)
So don't post it online to begin with. There are things that simply shouldn't be posted online under any circumstances.
That doesn't only mean "don't sext", but also, for example, if you're a corporation or a public entity, don't have personal information stored in a server that's online unless it's completely necessary, etc.
By having something connected to the internet, someone can make a copy, and once the copy is made, there's no going back.
