As a European living 30km from Russian border let me disagree with you

What do you mean by that? Are they selling any parts and components for military use? Are they buying oil and gas to support their war effort.

Please speak for yourself. Not everyone in Europe thinks US is bigger problem than China. For many China is far bigger geopolitical threat since they openly support Russia in its current war.

I was about to write the same. I even had a chance to meet their then CTO at their booth in WMC in Barcelona and complain in person but well …

I have my 9300 still in a drawer ( checked ) . Interesting if it is possible to find a replacement battery for it and what functionality would still be usable? A physical SIM, 3G still works…

Checked life expectancy in Finland: I guess you use booze to offset the positive effects of sauna :)

> To apply for British citizenship, you need to prove you were physically in the UK on your application date but five years ago.

I am confused whats British citizenship application to do with his, or any travel at all? That's not what you do regularly, I mean most people do not apply for citizenship in other countries ever in their lives? Or am I missing something?

Disappointing that EU signed it. I guess they are trying to push chat control by all possible means.

> The U.K. and European Union joined China, Russia, Brazil, Nigeria and dozens of other nations in signing the convention, which lays out new mechanisms for governments to coordinate, build capacity and track those who use technology to commit crimes.

EU will coordinate with Russia on cybercrime?

Yes I did pay for extra licenses. I also paid for the cameras to Reolink and disks to WD.

Reolink with Synology NAS using their native Surveillance app. All stored locally, no cloud. One issue with Reolink I haven’t solved is that it is unable to detect approaching cars in the night. Departing cars work fine though. Otherwise no complaints.

Can you please tell what kind of therapy you did ?

Can confirm this. I think it was sunflower oil which went through the roof when war started not vegetable though.

Here where I live many insurance companies are subsidiaries to the banks.

> “Here is your Sparkasse. A very important document is waiting for your signature. Please visit paperless.io/548fkjgd7f to continue.”

I mean this is just ... incredible. Are they living on the moon? Many real phishing messages are even more sophisticated than this.

If I remember correctly it came very useful during US Airways Flight 1549 accident?

That is how you ensure your neutrality.

yep, happened to my Fenix 7 as well immediately as soon as I activated workout mode (i.e. started GPS).

Ended up with factory reset and restore from Connect App backup.

Can confirm, everything runs in the watch, no connection to the app is needed. All your workouts are stored in the watch locally and synced to the Connect App once it is available. I never take my phone with me while doing workouts because its not really needed.

And Canary Islands as not part of Spain.

NTP server.

> Also Bangladesh seceded from Pakistan, not India and in 1971 not 1972.

Yep, I have some old map where it is called East Pakistan

I think as it was mentioned in the article it was mostly due to lack of need to travel: they were poor and didn’t have things to trade to justify seagoing. And then the other additional factors: lack of iron, the fact that shores were less habitable than mountains ( lack of freshwater), wind and currents between islands.

>Really interesting is, that that they came there by boat, but lost the ability to build boats or stopped doing so for whatever reasons, that they could not even travel between the islands anymore.

Maybe due to lack of access to iron?

Strange that you say that. I am also at the point where I can pretty well figure out the plane of ecliptic regardless of where I am. It is just you pay attention to it and it comes with time. Never occurred to me to look for center of Galaxy, but now I know what I will do next.

Can you recommend some resources for glider designs to a beginner?

As a side note, Astralcodexten blog by Scott Alexander is a fascinating read even if you are neither effective nor altruist.

I think it was about Zaporozhets. Lada was bit better built, especially the first models which still had a lot of Fiat in them

Thanks so much!

You are probably right. What I remember there was this chlorine gas, and there was some other gas (oxygen?). And in between them we had to flush everything with lots of nitrogen to prevent formation of potentially explosive mixture. The wafers would be placed on a graphite support, which was heated by that induction coil (as copper itself would melt at that temperature I guess).

I have some doubts about step 15: I used to work in a post-Soviet lab which produced chips in early 90s and as far as i remember etching happened in a high temperature (was it 1200C ?) environment where you would pass some chlorine type gas over the wafers. The temperature was achieved by induction heating with 8kHz AC passing through water cooled copper coils. The generators were mechanic, big water cooled machines placed in the basement of the building due to the noise they generated. Another reason for placing them in a basement was that water leaks were common. I was responsible for maintaining the heating setup and transitioning to electronic, thyristor based generators. The job was kind of electronic-engineer-plumber type of duty.
