aio2··on Amazon workers to strike at multiple US warehouses during busy holiday season
Here's my perspective. Not exactly related, but I hope you understand how I think:

If I am a small shipping company, and all I need is someone to wrap boxes and store them, and the load isn't much, then should I be paying them full time for the job? Heck, should I pay them a living wage? No. I pay them the value of the job.

Obviously, we need a certain minimum wage because nobody deserves to get scammed and make 10 cents a day, but at the same time, this push for all these benefits isn't realistic. I wish it was, but it isn't.

Obviously, my example is different from Amazon, but this is more a business owner perspective.

Yea no. I understand the sentiment and agree with it, but not exactly feasible for a lot of companies, especially for the type of job they offer

aio2··on Tell HN: your next idea should focus on aged care
This is my source: https://www.populationpyramid.net/united-states-of-america/2...

As you can see, the percentages for each age group are close to each other, meaning it's more even.

aio2··on Tell HN: your next idea should focus on aged care
Not about your point to develop a new project, but is the population aging? I know in certain areas, yes, they are, but a quick look at one of those population pyramids shows places like the US, with a more even population age group, meaning the population as a whole isn't generally getting older.

Please enlighten me though, I know almost nothing of this field.

aio2··on Sal Khan is pioneering innovation in education again
I'm going to be straight forward with you: You're wrong. Not everybody can sit their butts down and go through every word in a textbook. Watching videos on Youtube helps a lot, along with other methods.

Don't believe me? Look at those school tutorials on Youtube. Look at all the math videos, science videos and other topics. And I'm not talking about people who build cool DIY stuff and explain it at the surface level. I'm talking about people going through a school curriculum. There are kids who actually watch this, believe it or not, and it's wonderful.

This counters your statement which is "people don't want to learn". That's simply untrue. Everyday we are learning something new. You may not want to learn whatever they're teaching in school, but you will want to learn other things. And I think a personal tutor, especially a cheaper one, like Khan's AI tutor, will help a lot.

I'm studying physics right now, I can say I agree with everything you said.

One thing I'd like to expand on to those who don't know how greater energy means greater speed.

The kinetic energy equation is 1/2massvelocity^2=KE

Since the KE increases from the momentum transfer, and mass of the object stays constant, the only thing that can change is velocity, where it has to go up.

ex: KE=2, m=1 2=1/21v^2, v=2

Now if some momentum were transferred, and the kinetic energy increased to KE=8,

8=1/21velocity^2, velocity=4, since the mass can't change
