aiauthoritydev2··on Princeton group open sources "SWE-agent", with 12% fix rate for GitHub issues
12% is a very very large number for that kind of problem. I doubt even 0.1% of bug reports in the wild are that well written.
aiauthoritydev2··on Google to delete records from Incognito tracking
One way to describe incognito correctly is that it is a "porn mode". You do not want your spouse, children or anyone else to find out what you were watching. But that is it. Incognito does not prevent the browser company from seeing what you saw, the porn companies from noticing what you saw or does not stop anyone who has access to some rudimentary-sophisticated software skills (including your spouse) from figuring out what you did in your incognito.

A more appropriate thing to do however is to use a different browser altogether like Edge for such things and using it's incognito mode + some VPN protection do do whatever secret stuff you do. Even that does not give you full protection. Only the level of sophistication to beat your privacy goes up.

aiauthoritydev2··on Does America suddenly have a record number of bees?
Honeybees are not native to USA only bumblebees are.
aiauthoritydev2··on The Canadian government's plan to plant two billion trees
Why ?
aiauthoritydev2··on How is a company that sells canned water worth $1.4B?
That explains it. Chances are I saw the black cans but bought a white one thinking they are all the same.
aiauthoritydev2··on How is a company that sells canned water worth $1.4B?
People paying money itself is an evidence of "unique product". You think you can make money by selling canned water ?
aiauthoritydev2··on How is a company that sells canned water worth $1.4B?
I bought it only once. In fact the label made me think that it was carbonated water for some reason. I bought it and drank it and realized I was scammed. Since then I judge people who buy this crap.
aiauthoritydev2··on YouTube now requires to label their realistic-looking videos made using AI
Yes. Nearly all EU regulations are going to end up like that. Over-regulate and people develop blindness to regulations. Our best hope right now is that EU becomes more and more irrelevant as the gap between US and EU grows to the point American companies can simply bankroll the EU leaders.
aiauthoritydev2··on India raids network sending citizens to fight for Russia
Russia is actively at war and that is common knowledge. These people have to be retarded if they thought they would get a desk job in Moscow.

They very well knew that they are going to help in the war efforts in some capacity. I know that Nepalis are joining in large numbers in Russian army today and are on the frontlines too. I suspect the Indian guy simply chickened out when he saw the war.

It is in there interest of Russia to clearly tell the recruits what they are getting into. That reduces chances of cowardice on the battlefield. A lot of Indians would still volunteer to fight despite the risk to their lives. Many Indians from the poor parts of the country risk their lives for earning less than $2 per day. They are engaged into thinks like train robberies, kidnapping, organized crime, drug trafficking etc. where risk to life is non trivial.

aiauthoritydev2··on India raids network sending citizens to fight for Russia
Yes. I would be happy to fight such war if we plan to make an example out of imperialistic nations.
aiauthoritydev2··on Germany vs. Google: How Street View Won the Privacy Battle in Europe
Europe: where they build nothing but obstruct everything.
aiauthoritydev2··on India raids network sending citizens to fight for Russia
India has a massive network of "agents" who help a lot of Indians escape India. It was only matter of time before Russians could exploit this to get some much needed manpower. Shame Ukraine is not doing the same. A lot of Indians would be willing to work for any country given a good amount of money.
aiauthoritydev2··on PG&E claims no connection between rate increases and $2.2B jump in earnings
Correct. They donate to right politicians (both on left and right).
aiauthoritydev2··on PG&E claims no connection between rate increases and $2.2B jump in earnings
Nationalizing them is likely to have far worse outcomes and the entire company would turn into a leech that neither produces electricity nor makes profit.
aiauthoritydev2··on PG&E claims no connection between rate increases and $2.2B jump in earnings
Profit is not a problem. The problem is PG&E is pretty much a monopoly enabled by Californian state.
