Thank you
agcat··on Local AI News Feed
Just a simple feed curating some of the best discussions, papers, repos for all discussions happening related to running AI locally.
agcat··on Ask HN: Should we still learn coding?
Def, i think this is the most important time to learn coding because now we interact with computers more than ever. And a good programmer who is able to think in code, write good programs rather than just instructions will do much better.

I also wrote about my journey with (re)learning coding - https://aishwaryagoel.com/thinking-in-code/

agcat··on Show HN: An e-ink frame that hears birds and draws them as 1800s illustrations

agcat··on Ask HN: What are you working on? (September 2026)

agcat··on Ask HN: How do you manage skills files?
Great responses in this thread
agcat··on Thinking in Code
I agree, i have seen a decent change in the outputs when i remember and operate it as a program instead of just random set of instructions
agcat··on Ask HN: Anyone homeschooling their kids?
But that problem can be solved.

agcat··on Ask HN: The new wave of AI agent sandboxes?

agcat··on Ask HN: What breaks first when your team grows from 10 to 50 people?
I have been at this stage and failed at it. So i can tell you things not to do:

- It also matters at what PMF quality stage you are, like we were at a weak PMF when we started scaling from roughly 12 to 25.. and i hired leaders who used to report to me. So i lost touch with people on field. ( I should have kept things flat)

- Hired too many managers instead of IC.

- Focussed more on growth v/s retention

agcat··on Willingness to look stupid
This is true. It's okay to overshare and look stupid.

agcat··on I have $10k+ in cloud credits and want to turn them into a real business
It totally depends if you want to do this as a side gig or a full time thing.. if you want to something on the side.. maybe launch a saas.. for the first two ideas if you have a strong insight that can turn into a fulltime thing then only make sense burning your credits
agcat··on How to talk to anyone and why you should

agcat··on Tell HN: YC companies scrape GitHub activity, send spam emails to users
This is so weird and true. The most unfortunate thing is that a lot of these data enrichment platform where they encourage these workflows but its clear that end person doesn't appreciate it.
