The highest is Pro 100 and it’s useless for codex.
Fable 5.1/Opus 5.5 isn’t different, but the first cut is better quality.
Astra is a whole order of magnitude cheaper than Fable, and the Anthropic usage limits are ridiculous. Layers on layers of limits that constantly trip.
We don’t really use Sol because Astra X High is cheap. Some have mentioned regressions but we haven’t noticed any with Astra.
Fact is, stuff happens. For example: we once had a crazed person run inside and start yelling profanities at people for no reason. Then, he denied it and reported us to the police for assaulting him. He got his girlfriend to act as a fake witness.
Having the cameras was a no brainer for legally protecting my staff, we could just pull the footage and show that no one touched him.
Similar protections for when male and female staff are working together alone. They are both protected from false accusations, one from harming the other, and the other from potentially false reports/blackmail that they attempted to do something.
We’ve caught interns stealing petty cash from people’s wallets (before cameras - caught in the act)
Is it sad? Yes. But it’s the world we live in and cameras are cheap. No such smaller incidents since the cameras went up. People behave better when they’re being watched, or at least they think we’re being watched. Nobody has actually watched the footage for months and it rolls over in about a week.
It’s nice that it’s open source, thank you. I just wish that Mattermost et al didn’t open Pandora’s box with this one.
Most Australians dislike social media. We are underrepresented on it, and it shovels the US’s issues down our throat. The current algorithms mainly send us US political propaganda and things that are supposed to make us hate nearby Asian powers like China.
But better again that you do believe, and know that these are not harmless fun, but that there are dark and hidden and evil things in this world to stay away from.
If it natively plugged into the Apple ecosystem, now that would be difficult to refuse.
And unlike Sol: Opus like yoda, anything for unusable he is.
2) The first AI company to reduce their token pricing such that Astra/Fable can run for less than $150/day from credits would see a 5x usage increase and 20x spend increase from me. It’s currently around $500 for Astra and $5000 for Claude.
3) They seem to recently have addressed the fact that their safeguards were OTT so kudos to them for realising and now Fable is usable for wire and memory level programming.
It’s now really easy to spin a terminal emulator and make cross platform terminal apps that work the same on Windows, macOS and Linux regardless of users terminal. You can also make sure the term sends everything required to make the app “nice”, like mouse hover events.
I started using this paradigm for some of my own company’s apps around 3 months ago because it was neat to allow the app to spawn DWM windows for sub windows, dialogs etc. but the app can also fall back to standard TTY for using over SSH or from within a docker or any other terminal. Also, using your own terminal window gives proper taskbar integration (stacking windows) and you can set your own app name/icon.
(It’s possible to 1-shot this in Python using the prompt “use ghostling as a reference, write a terminal emulator in Python using raylib and libghostty that hosts my app” and the first pass was around half the speed of Ghostty.)
It prioritises getting something working over making something good during the 1-shot phase and outputs maximum slop.
