aduwah··on Sites in ChatGPT
In a corporate environment the ability to code does not substitute a decent software engineer.
aduwah··on Singapore’s National Library Board offers micropayments to build reading habits
You being downvoted is just sad
aduwah··on Learning another language may be one of the best ways to keep your brain healthy
I find that I am having a different personality in each (3) languages I speak, especially in context in a different country. When I switch back to my original language to speak to someone in said country my habits I do in my original country come back for the part and then I revert back. Feels a bit schizophrenic, but I think it is normal for most people. My child is showing similar patterns.

To me this is proof that learning a language touches a lot of parts in our brain, not just affect the parts about learning

aduwah··on T. Rex Had a Body Temperature of 97 Degrees
I have asked ChatGPT to draw me an image of a 97 degree celsius t-rex and the result was absolutely amazing
aduwah··on GPT-5.6 Luna vs. GPT-6 Astra: Is a $1.20 Model Good Enough for Code Review?
2+ devs looking at PRs? U have never seen that in 20+ years.
aduwah··on Falsehoods Programmers Believe About LANs
Read it as chain of thoughts not as a list
aduwah··on GitHub Outage Tracker: Is GitHub Cooked?
Depends who you are aiming sympathy at. C-levels or Engineering?

Kerbal Space Program
aduwah··on Qwen 3.8
A local AI is not about cost. In fact you will likely pay more for it than with most providers. Just look up the advantages of having access to a technology like this that can be self hosted
aduwah··on Building a real-time AI tutor for 5-year-olds
Yeah, unlimited screen time, with an LLM no less, for a 4y old. Took me 2 minutes to decide you've wasted a year
aduwah··on Not everyone is using AI for everything
"Have you considered just answering truthfully?"

Said by no-one who has a decent paying job and has bills to pay

aduwah··on Show HN: I am building a map of people who lived in the Roman Empire
I absolutely love this project. Thanks for making my day!
aduwah··on The computer science degree isn’t dead
Experience does not really matter. What matters is a few shiny corp names and titles in your CV. No-one cares with merit these days
aduwah··on Steve Wozniak cheered after telling students they have AI – actual intelligence
There is no politician who stands against big tech and by extension big money
aduwah··on How Cloudflare responded to the “Copy Fail” Linux vulnerability
The whole IT industry is reliant on Linux user-based access controls, it is not a Cloudflare thing.

Also leaving a massive gap like this behind would be a mistake on multiple levels. For example, it might get combined with another exploit that can achieve unprivileged access to some piece of metal, or you can have a disgruntled employee without admin access escalating their permissions on a box they aren't supposed to see all the secrets.

aduwah··on OpenAI's o1 correctly diagnosed 67% of ER patients vs. 50-55% by triage doctors
It makes me so upset when anyone even tries to defend the GPs.

I admittedly I have a bunch of medical issues and these gems are my favourites from the GPs.

1. I cannot see the tonsil on the left side, so it is OK. (there was a 6cm!!! cyst in front of it)

2. After missing sky high TSH measures consistently for 2 years (4 testst) : "It must have been a few one offs" (no it wasn't and it is not even possible)

3. "Blood pressure has nothing to do with weight"

These %#£&* so called medical professionals are still working and most likely killing people legally.

These days I research and read studies, arm myself with knowledge, cross check with multiple LLMs and go in with a diagnosis and request a specific prescription. After 5 years with my health in the gutter I had my first comprehensive private blood test coming back with no issues.

So no, do not try to call me arrogant. I am not arrogant, I am defending myself from these "GPs" so they won't put me in an early grave by making fatal mistakes.

aduwah··on VS Code inserting 'Co-Authored-by Copilot' into commits regardless of usage
Constructive feedback: revert it and then apologise instead of just doing half of it.
aduwah··on For Linux kernel vulnerabilities, there is no heads-up to distributions
Especially since the reporter is explicitly asked not to notify the distro teams first.

https://docs.kernel.org/process/security-bugs.html

```As such, the kernel security team strongly recommends that as a reporter of a potential security issue you DO NOT contact the “linux-distros” mailing list UNTIL a fix is accepted by the affected code’s maintainers and you have read the distros wiki page above and you fully understand the requirements that contacting “linux-distros” will impose on you and the kernel community. ```
aduwah··on Spain's parliament will act against massive IP blockages by LaLiga
I wonder why didn't Cloudflare just say that technically they can't block the IPs for a short time as they have no mechanism to do it and it would take a significant amount of $$ to develop it.
Right after this statement they could have permanently block all the IPs and let the outraged customers make enough noise that would have prompt the government to act sooner.
aduwah··on I accidentally made law enforcement shut down their fake honeypot
I doubt that it is the case. The registration of the gun is a part of the process everywhere afaik.
aduwah··on Online age verification is the hill to die on
There is a vast difference between being scammed and being defrauded. The latter can happen without any interaction with you by criminals using your leaked personal data. An AI empowered scam is just that. A scam can be avoided. Leaked IDs, voice and identity not so much
My point is that the data that you don't provide cannot be leaked
aduwah··on Online age verification is the hill to die on
We will see how your opinion changes when someone steals your ID and voice and you end up being defrauded due to the government chosing the cheapest Indian shop to mishandle your data
aduwah··on Tech valuations are back to pre-AI boom levels
In the meanwhile my big bad corp measures AI usage as a performance KPI
aduwah··on Peptides: where to begin?
Not US, but the seminars to fill in the hours in my country were closer to legal bribes and/or holidays in often exotic places. They usually were provided/funded by the medicine lobby.
aduwah··on A16Z Capital Management, Llc Vs. Dulat Akan
Can't wait for his LinkedIn post.
aduwah··on I Quit. The Clankers Won
Hard same over 20 years
aduwah··on Miasma: A tool to trap AI web scrapers in an endless poison pit
Accessing the shop by going through the wall with a tank is not the same as walking in the door. Hosting costs money. These botnets should be charged for the costs they incur
aduwah··on Miasma: A tool to trap AI web scrapers in an endless poison pit
I think the second is incorrect too. DDoS is a DDoS no matter what the intent is.
aduwah··on Miasma: A tool to trap AI web scrapers in an endless poison pit
There are way too many to do that
aduwah··on If you don't opt out by Apr 24 GitHub will train on your private repos
I will join the club. +1 for ruining M$ AI with my garbage code
