They got paved over to build a highway. Or in lots of places, were never built at all, or are too far away. So much infrastructure over the last half century is built for cars, not people. The trend you've identified is people realizing this situation and reclaiming some of the space for people instead of just cars.

Why don't they dynamite it so that it collapses while everyone's extremely prepared, instead of being semi prepared for months or longer?

Absolutely. Unfortunately, there is no API call for defriending someone (there's only one for adding someone). So this is the best we could do. Stupid facebook

If you only interact with people in private messages and not wall posts, photos, etc, than the algorithm won't pick it up ( because we don't get permissions for that)

Duster doesn't tell your friends that you removed them.
