Linux will even tell you the charge for each battery (Ubuntu Gnome 17.04)
Spring Boot and Dropwizard makes this dead simple, a single .jar file with everything you need to run your app.
You can certainly do commercial applications using Intellij IDEA CE, if you don't need Java EE, Spring, GWT, Grails, etc deep integration in the IDE.
I believe it includes Kotlin Support.
You are joking right? Have you ever set foot in an IMSS Hospital? Describing it as a third world health care service is being generous.

Again, this: "You don't need to plug in your laptop all the time" works for the regular MacBook, but we are talking about the 'Pro' line here, MagSafe should be standard.
Author of the Cathedral and the Bazaar.
I hope not, that seems wrong.
Prejudice (against a ethnicity, culture, class, gender, sexual orientation, religion, etc) is wrong no matter the percentage of the majority/minority doing it involved
The dongle comment was a conversation between two people, it was not private, but it's audience was intended to be limited to two individuals.
The CAH game could offend someone that passed by (it was played in a hallway), what would have happened if someone took a picture of her playing CAH and tweeted "Not Cool Guys/Gals"and made a blog post about feeling treated at PyCon?
The same Adria who herself made penis jokes on twitter a few days earlier and who was playing Cards Against Humanity at the same PyCon conference?
What happened to her is shameful and can't be condoned in any way, shape or form, but she engaged in the same (or some would say worse) behavior that she was criticizing Hank for. Double standards much?
>Perhaps you are right in perceiving a lack of empathy.... I think it's because she is viewing Hank as an oblivious part of a system which puts her at a significant disadvantage.
That's the definition of lack of empathy, Hank clearly expressed empathy for her, she didn't even consider the possibility that her public shaming could have serious consequences.
By the way, I believe she was in her right to complain about the joke to the organizers in private, it's the public tweet with the photo that crossed the line.
I'm trying to change my circumstances the 'hacker way': learning, experimenting and trying my best, even if it is a hard problem for me to resolve.
For me, staying healthy, slim and fit is incredibly hard, it seems that for you it is not.
"Just eat less" is not a very helpful answer, it's incredibly frustrating to hear, believe me.
When your blood sugar is in the 60s or 50s range from trying like hell to do your diet all day, reason goes out the window and 'mere' will power is not enough.
It takes a lot of effort, lots of planning (preparing food, planning what, where and when to eat, snacks, etc) and a LOT of information (nutrition, insulin effects on the body, pros and cons of current 'fad' diets, etc) which takes a while to collect, also, lots of trial an error.
It doesn't help that most doctors, are clueless regarding healthy eating.
Imagine all the workflows that depend on verified encryption signatures like Debian, Ubuntu, etc and that's just software distribution, not counting privacy issues like journalists, political dissidents, whistle blowers, etc using it for secure communications.
It was pretty easy to donate, took me less than 2 minutes. I encourage everybody that is able to make a donation, however small, every euro counts.
But in this context you seem to imply that there are practical differences i.e: Not all Open Source licences are considered Free Software in the practical sense.
If that is the case, could you provide an example?
WiFi is fine for when you are on the move, but for serious use, I wouldn't trade an ethernet connection.
I'm in a office right now with over 500 people, all with laptops, tablets, mobile phones, and the WiFi is pretty crappy. I wouldn't want to depend on WiFi as my main network connection in any kind of office environment.
Most of the time they are above the average PC/Laptop, I do give you that, but recent models have reduced functionality (non replaceable batteries, memory, HDD, dongles for ethernet, etc) all in the name of Form over Function.
Maybe most consumers don't care about other features (minimalism can be good and a feature by itself) and a Mac is ideal for them, that is fine, I just disagree that only MBP have those qualities
No docking station, can't change batteries, no touch screens, no spill resistant keyboards, no matte screen option, etc.
You also need those dongles for ethernet and video and can't upgrade RAM or hard drives on the retina models.
Sure, the OS (if you need/like OSX, there is little choice), and the trackpad (if you like that those) are good, the rest? meh.
I rather have a Thinkpad that can take a lot of abuse.
The word empathy to describe Steve Jobs is not the word I would use at all. Maybe "in tune"?
In HTML, a button is not a button, it's a DIV with an CSS properties (which render differently depending on the browser) + some images + some Javascript. And that abstraction leaks a lot.
The equivalent in native code will be having to deal with Xlib in X11 or GDI on Windows every time you debug.
That said, there is value in HTML/CSS/JS UIs, I don't deny that, and I use them when appropriately. I still think native UIs are 'cleaner' to develop.
