adityakothadiya··on My approach to taking notes in meetings
Avoma.com does this exact workflow (Disclaimer: I'm a co-founder).

It has collaborative note-editor like Google. So during the meeting, you and your colleagues can take notes in the same document, or you can also take private notes.

All manual typed notes are linked to meeting recording and transcript to refer back the context later on.

On top of that, Avoma's AI will also extract some additional notes - like Action items, etc.

And if you or AI missed taking some notes, you can highlight the transcript text to add it to Notes.

It's the best blend of human intelligence working with artificial intelligence to create most structured notes, in the least amount of time.

And it works with all conferencing providers – Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, GoToMeeting, etc. So you don't have to worry which conferencing supports recording or not. It's always taken care for you.

Hope this helps. Feel free to check it out at https://www.avoma.com.

adityakothadiya··on Ask HN: Sell my startup for $14M because I can't raise $2M?
Maybe this article would be helpful to decide if sell right now vs raise capital and then raise at a higher valuation - https://medium.com/strong-words/meaningful-exits-for-founder...

adityakothadiya··on Ask HN: What's your startup's analytics setup?
Actually you can use Mixpanel exactly for that. We're a B2B company and have exact same use case as yours. We provide some Javascript code that our customers add on their sites. We don't require our customers to have Mixpanel account and we also don't load our Mixpanel JS to our customers' site.

What we do is - we send requests to our server from our customers' site with key information that we want to track, and then we send those events to Mixpanel through server API (e.g. PHP) calls.

It works really well for us. We're measuring how our customers' customers are using our Javascript based widget, and are able to improve our performance, engagement, etc.

Hope this helps.

adityakothadiya··on Show HN: 7courses - The easy to use online recipe manager.
I'm not sure charging $10/month is the right way of monetizing this service. It's useful, but you have to think is it valuable and critical enough to pay $10/month? For "consumers", you should target somewhere around $3-$5/month. That too, not all consumers will pay this - so you have to have some Freemium approach. I feel current version of service should be Free and do Ad-based revenue. And then you add more advanced features based on user feedback, and then make that Premium plan with no Advertising.

adityakothadiya··on Thank HN: My part-time project is finally ready for the business
Yes.
adityakothadiya··on Thank HN: My part-time project is finally ready for the business
Frankly speaking, I haven't handled this case yet. I guess most users are genuine. And so far no one has complained, so I wasn't really worried about it. But I see your point, and need to think about this - at least I need to have some plan in mind in case such thing starts happening.
adityakothadiya··on Thank HN: My part-time project is finally ready for the business
Yeah. Still solo-founder. So everything is done by me. That's why it took so long :)

adityakothadiya··on Productizing Twilio Applications
Shameless self plug here: my iPhone app JustRemindIt just does that - http://justremindit.com. Give it a try! It's based on Twilio only.
adityakothadiya··on Fakecall: helping polite introverts stay productive
This is cool. I developed a Voice Call reminder iPhone app - http://JustRemindIt.com. When I developed it, its soul purpose was to send Voice Call reminders to anyone. I didn't think too much at that time for what else people can use this app.

Couple customers sent me feedback email saying that this app is really cool as it helps them to get out of a boring meeting. They simply schedule a Voice Call reminder to themselves. And my app does the reliable job of calling them. When phone rings, they just walk out of a meeting without faking much :).

Couple of people said they use it as a "Future Voice Mail" service. Send real message to someone, not just "reminding" specific.

I guess use case mentioned in this article could be another use case for my app :).

adityakothadiya··on Shopify Raises $15 Million in Series B Funding
I think the bigger news for hackers is that they are announcing Shopify Fund - http://shopify.com/fund. They're calling developers to build apps for Shopify platform and want to compensate between 5K-10K. Definitely a great idea to get that initial funding if you've an app idea around eCommerce platform.
adityakothadiya··on 37signals: A/B testing part 3: Finalé
I don't think so this particular case is just "few hours of A/B testing". They were testing pretty drastic design changes - and it takes lot more than few hours to come up with design concepts, copyright text, and then actual implementation. These were not typical "test different landing page title or action call button color" tests. These were brand new design changes. So for established companies, this is absolutely the right approach - as your product is already ready, now just increase the sales. But for many early stage companies, when product development itself is constantly evolving and demanding, spending so much time on different design iterations is not always possible. Agree, their results are phenomenal, but not sure how many companies understand this before they try.
adityakothadiya··on Why Quora is in trouble
"Everyone in the Valley thinks its huge because everyone in the Valley uses it."

My techie friends from Silicon Valley also don't use Quora. So don't worry, not everyone in Valley uses it. I think very few % of Valley users are using it.

adityakothadiya··on App.net
And cookies too.
adityakothadiya··on Show HN: College2Startup delivers startup jobs to your inbox
This is classic chicken and egg problem. As a Startup who wants to post a job ad, I've no idea if you have enough students who are looking for job on your site, and is it worth paying $100/post. If you're starting now, then keep the job posting free or very minimal, so that you'll have more jobs posted. Once you reach students mass, then you can charge more to startups.
adityakothadiya··on Ask HN: What are your side projects?
I released this iPhone app few months ago - JustRemindIt - http://justremindit.com. It's an app to send voice call based reminders to your friends, clients and yourself. Just type the reminder message and date, and our service will call a desired person at a scheduled time.

Many businesses and individuals use this app on daily basis. The iPhone app already makes decent money, but I'm more excited about the upcoming Web application, which is specially targeted for small service and professional businesses. I'll be releasing this web app very soon.

This is my first side project, which solves a real problem, makes decent money, and growing slowly but steadily. You can reach me at aditya at justremindit dot com.

adityakothadiya··on Fred Wilson invented Embedly: How we got a Y Combinator interview
You could have said "Fred Wilson inspired Embedly". The "invented" sounds too dramatic and may be inaccurate too.
adityakothadiya··on Fred Wilson invented Embedly: How we got a Y Combinator interview
If the first sentence itself is a disclaimer, then why write such sensational headline? Don't be so dramatic. I'm interested in reading your article and learning from it. Please don't fool me. I tend to loose respect for your content and efforts due to such marketing tactics.
adityakothadiya··on StackOverflow’s Careers 2.0
For a new user who visits this site for the first time, the "2.0" doesn't make any sense. Why add version number to your product name? It's fine to write about it in blog post announcement. But when I visit your site, I don't care which version it is. I know I'm using latest version that is live.
adityakothadiya··on Ask HN: How to do customer development for online retail industry?
Thanks! This sounds a great advice. Will work on this.
adityakothadiya··on Chirply (YC S10) is Threadless for Paper Goods
Probably the more appropriate question is - how it's different than http://minted.com? I know TinyPrints is not crowd-sourced, but Minted is.

Please note, I'm not trying to demean your service or existence by any means, but just trying to learn how you're distinguishing and plan to compete with this super growing startups?

adityakothadiya··on Chirply (YC S10) is Threadless for Paper Goods
Try http://tinyprints.com or http://minted.com
adityakothadiya··on Github Resume Generator
On the similar note, try this LinkedIn Resume builder - http://resume.linkedinlabs.com. It's pretty cool and useful too!
adityakothadiya··on Why charging $12/year converts higher than $9.99
I wish Apple allows developers to decide their exact price instead of price-tiers which are variations of $*.99. I wanted to pick honest pricing for my iPhone app's in-app purchasing plans, but you've no option than to choose these marketing numbers.
adityakothadiya··on Google to Launch Groupon Competitor
Ok, help me understand this - if Google really wanted to get into this business, and if they couldn't acquire Groupon, then why didn't they try to acquire Groupon clones like LivingSocial, and many more? What could be rational behind starting from scratch?
adityakothadiya··on Show HN: New Punchd website (like foursquare for the masses)
Seems like a really useful idea and great execution too. I've never used the real punch cards in action before, may be I'm not aware of it. But this is something that I would definitely love to use!
adityakothadiya··on DuckDuckGo Challenges Google on Privacy (With a Billboard in San Francisco)
This is really big deal. Every time I fail to find a great co-founder, I just look up to Gabriel and decide to not give up even if I've to run my company as a solo founder. Running a company as a solo-founder is not new. We've many successful solo founders on HN. But running a Search engine is a really big deal, where many big companies have failed. So respect to Gabriel is even more...
