In some ways debt can make us stronger. We issue bonds which the entire world wants to buy. This isn't like your household credit card debt. This is debt that fuels growth and investment in the United States. Partially, because of this we don't have to carry reserves of foreign currency or peg our dollar to another country. I don't know what the right amount is but low interest rates indicate the market does not consider this amount of debt to be problematic.

A better question is: what are we getting for our spending as a nation? Rather than pearl clutching at the amount.

Or its just everyone who accepted a federal job to put food on their family table or to perform public service. It's all federal jobs, not just health as in this article, where those that are hired within the last 1-2 years are being summarily fired. Without consideration of performance or need.

The Mac efforts rely on MoltenVK for and Vulkan needs which itself relies on the underlying Metal API. As I understand it Asahi/Honeykrisp driver for Vulkan does not rely on the Metal API so it actually can do more conformant Vulkan than Crossover/Whisky can. For example tranform feedback and other geometry shader stuff will work on Asahi. MoltenVK is working on it, but not there yet.
