Totally different than bundling it with the OS.
Except wait, they do that too.
Nowadays we have "right to work" laws being sponsored by companies and people somehow think it's "wrong" to join unions and bargain collectively.
When I see posts like this, I shake my head and wonder where we went wrong.
Conglomeration in general isn't great for the open web. That's where we are though.
I do feel like doctors should have questioned the notion that these drugs were completely safe.
Instead of getting handed opiates like they are harmless because the doctors believed the drug companies who tried to pass them off as safe for unmonitored use.
Neither are going to destroy the country. These drugs are going to destroy a lot of lives though.
sure, but if Chrome de facto controls standards does that really matter?
Great relationship advice.
Because it's easier that way and you don't really need to tinker.
Why, because they hire some industry leaders? What is this guess based on?
They have no impetus to change and think they have found an approach that works reasonable well when given absurd amounts of candidates. The problem is the ridiculous false negative rate.
I struggle to think of a better system. Using experience is unfair and misleading (I worked on awesome stuff... that I can tell you nothing about, I was totally the lead on this software, etc...). Take home stuff is fine with me but a lot of people have problems with it. Come in for a week type things are incredibly applicant hostile.
Sit down with me and lets try and fix this bug seems like a more reasonable solution to me. Dev environment has the most popular ide with their devs, the source for whatever, internet access, and a bug report. Person is there to assist.
You look at who caused conflicts and send out emails. Don't land the merge until all commits are resolved. People who don't resolve their changes get in trouble.
Not perfect, but there it is.
I worked on a chromium based product as well and had the exact same problem. Eventually we came up with a reasonable system for landing commits and just tried out best to build using chromium, but not having actual patches. Worked okay, not great. Better thant he old system of having people do it manually/just porting our changes to each release.
They didn't bother to check on the whole "I'm here to start work, my boss is <T>" ?
is his boss, whether he dresses like a slob or not.
I don't really care either way on the subject of work attire, with one exception. I hate casual fridays. It matters or it doesn't quit with the bullshit.
If it was microsoft they already would have shut this down because of the backlash. Google does it and people are fine with it.
