_s_a_m_··on OpenAI GPT–6 Astra breaks Enigma message that has resisted solution since 2005
The bullshit machinery is going full blast lately, the correct title: researcher uses Astra to decipher a message nobody really bothered or cared to decrypt.

Is ClosedAI running out of money or what is going on?

_s_a_m_··on No Man's Sky Cosmos
i played it day 1 back then and even bought a PS4 only to play it and played it over the years repeatedly after every larger update for about 1000 hours in total. The fundamental promise they made was never shipped, which was originally a large variety of procedural flora, fauna, and planet. It is still the same uninspired boring stale core that it was day 1 with minimal extensions which produce absolutely boring world that immediately repeat. The game was always Waiting for Godot, waiting for a game that was originally announced with an interesting procedural feature but never shipped. Meanwhile I discovered the history of procedural games, which is a story of fails.

I still sometimes hope that the actually rewrote the entire procedural variety system but it cant happen because people built persistent shit on those planets. They probably have to launch a new game.

_s_a_m_··on Volkswagen planning to cut up to 100.000 jobs globally
A German economist explained on Insta that the main reason they are doing this is because Moody's making politics and reduced VWs rating, and VW is one of the largest credit holders in Europe and now they have been forced to act and do something about this unplanned rating change which will make loans expensive for them, without actually being a concrete automotive related issue in the first place.

_s_a_m_··on Postgres rewritten in Rust, now passing 100% of the Postgres regression tests
very naive. the runtime behavior of a rewrite should be significantly different in all kinds of unpredictable ways nobody see coming or might expect. It is a combination of language semantics, compiler behavior, operating system behavior, file system behavior, driver behavior, ..
