I agree - I am running my own Samba server and I don't think I'm affected, but it isn't really clear to me how to double check or why Apple's new default broke things in the first place
Also hoping that this work continues and tooling is made available. I suppose eventually someone could even make a wrapper around it that implements Docker's remote API
Not to mention, Proxmox does not support running Docker in an LXC officially (of course many users still do it). It is not a supported configuration as of now
> Detaching and reattaching EBS volumes can take 10s for healthy volumes to 20m for failed ones
Is there a source for the 20m time limit for failed EBS volumes? I experienced this at work for the first time recently but couldn't find anything documenting the 20m SLA (and it did take just about 20 full minutes).
I haven't seen any in depth performance comparisons, but I had also started to dig into this and I was leaning towards using Scrypted instead of the HomeBridge plugin. Just wanted to name-drop them for others also interested in all this
I don’t have to auth on my phone every time. I suspect maybe I do for the first time I use this feature for that boot of my phone, but I haven’t confirmed that yet. This would be useless if you had to auth on the phone every single usage
That was the first thing I checked, and it looks like they’re using some existing python package to parse docx files. I wonder if they contributed to it or vetted it strongly
I suppose the difference is 1st party support for creating the audiogram, plus the clearance from the US gov to market it the way they want as OTC hearing aids
I wonder if the flag gets reset every so often if the device doesn't think it's in the US for a long period of time. I've heard Apple considered that for some of the other EU restrictions
The $15 makes this pretty hard to scale too. The link someone posted was $0.05/request. I'd love to see how/where you can get this data in bulk from a primary source.
Uhh this seems like a big fact to gloss over, and something I am quite surprised by. Could you point to any examples as I’m having a hard time finding anything available publicly from any DMVs/states
Non-US watch series 10 specification pages mention it still, so it's there and just disabled. I wonder though if they could legally enable it after the fact on watches imported while the ban was in effect
> but now it just feels like manipulating a database with extra steps
Well, realistically that is most of software development at this point. Sometimes I get depressed about that, but other times it fades away when an app brings delight to its users or solves a problem - it's a bit more humanizing and inspiring
Is there documentation for the protocol anywhere, or is this going to be a proprietary protocol to Proton that doesn’t gain much adoption outside of their users? If their claims are true this could be a great alternative for certain use cases
Do you mean you can catch them and stop them? Or catch them and say "oh I'm starting to feel angry" without letting the anger consume you, but still let it exist. I'd love any elaboration you can share on this
