Some people live in gutter, to them, they believe world is always dirty.

> It’s easy to be optimistic when you're sitting on millions (dhh).

It’s natural to be pessimistic if you are unskilled. Your ability to keep your job is directly proportional to how good you are.

I have always wondered, what will companies do, if the law changes. Will they still "care" for the consumer, or just "comply" with the law.

Yes, most famously the diesel gate, european automakers cheating emission tests, [3] because EU invited companies to self regulate their lab tests.

World used to believe companies used to care for them, before snowden showed up. Even now people are still surprised, when companies like LG get caught doing illegal stuff. How long before there is a scandal in EU? Fool me once...

As much as i like to believe EU "cares" about the consumer, its really stupid for someone to blindly put their faith in Mullvad. Zero trust. When you are online, you are on your own.

> Who are these people that you talk about?

Do you want the commenter to post list of people? Even if they do, you will outright dismiss it saying too few. Your comment is ridiculous. People had all the chance to stop trusting corporations and demanding changes to digital sites. Now instead you got circus full of so called “influencers” who pimp their life to advertisers and god knows who, US court demanding intrusive age verification embedded inside OS, govt demanding screening social life and your personal phones just to enter within a border. There was a time for action before it was too late, ie, during snowden revelations, people didn’t do fuckall. And you are surprised now LG is spying on you!

One very disturbing consequence not discussed enough is that some American state law is suddenly supposed to be tolerated by the rest of the world just because they depend on open source software, which sees contributions from all around the world.
