Ubuntu has great Long Term Support - which is exactly what this is about and the apt package management is far superior to Yum (IMO at least) - Plenty of high profile companies use Ubuntu for servers.
There was a 'network traffic anomaly' a while back - but it wasn't a confirmed compromise.
Not saying it wasn't.. but I think you should provide examples before blindly calling a hack.
You don't want to waste time setting up X.. resolving dependencies.. making things 'work' that should 'just work'.
So, whatever solves that?
Personally, I've gone for the latest available release of Ubuntu where possible, although recently i've started using OS X and shelling into a linux machine to do any necessary work that requires it. I find OS X provides a decent *nix underneath and with the addition of http://brew.sh/ - makes it a viable choice for me over a Linux set up.
It's by far the best chair I've ever had. Totally worth it. The desk is exactly the height I want - the size I want.. because I made it so. :)
Go for the chair that fits you best - even if expensive. You're going to be sitting in it for 8hrs+ a day, right?
Wait for the product refresh, if you can!
Pacman, bladerunner, alien storm etc.
Another was names of metal bands. Anthrax, slayer, metallica etc.
Naming servers is the best :)
Particularly like the idea of always-on for remote workers.. and the click-to-talk idea.
I'm not a professional or anything like that but i've had some person experience with depression and suicide
Goes to record store.
Listens to vinyl.
Likes.
End.
How can I help?
Of note, the apps I have allowed access to my account are:
tweetdeck, twitter for android/OSX and instagram.
(if that helps any diagnosis of potential attack vectors)
You're doing the right things.
I'd happily donate them some money to help with things - I know that it's not easy tying up someone's personal life - funeral costs, lawyers, etc.
$ uname -s
OpenBSD
$ uptime
3:37PM up 2597 days, 20:57, 1 user, load averages: 0.12, 0.13, 0.09
Though, uptime is only a measure of how long it's been since you last patched/did kernel upgrades.This box is off most of the network and being left alone just to see how long it lasts before it totally dies ;)
