Zsfe510asG··on AI didn't kill programming, you did
The entire article is correct in the description of open source bootlickers helping the assimilation of the entire ecosystem by corporations.

I wonder about the short conclusion:

"But I don't think these AI tools pose a threat to individual programmers. My prediction is it will free us from the corporate framing, and provide a whole new way to realize our visions."

How will the tools free a programmer who was productive before the laundromats?

Zsfe510asG··on AI didn't kill programming, you did
No it does not, and your takedown is exactly the kind of water carrying for corporations that the article criticizes.

Have a nice day, conditioned sheep.

Zsfe510asG··on Demonstration Against Thiel Receiving the Axel Springer Award
This is notable for two reasons:

1) Axel Springer, which apart from its scientific publishing runs major conservative newspapers "Die Welt" and "Bild" in Germany, is a neocon, transatlantic publisher that is against MAGA, AfD but pro-industry and pro US.

Thiel receiving the award exposes him as a standard conservative establishment neocon who just used Trump.

2) Thiel accepts the award from a German publisher who often puts US interests above German interests.

The angle of the demonstration is of course different, but I was surprised to learn of the award recipient.

Yes, the site has one of the best layouts and UI ever.
Zsfe510asG··on Victory Appeals Court Rejects Expansive New Copyright Claim
If they don't rely on the original works why do they incorporate them in the training corpus? But they do, so it is a derivative work.

When the industry favored copyright, it made sure to do clean room implementations of software by competitors. Programmers who had even read a single line were disqualified.

AI reads everything, so it is not a clean room implementation. The EFF knows this of course and still supports the industry (which is now of the side of theft, unless it is distilling).

Zsfe510asG··on Microsoft exec called AI scraping 'the largest theft of labor in human history'
There are no viable free versions with sufficient computing power. The do-it-yourself AI is dangled as a carrot in front of users to camouflage the lock-in and rent seeking by Big AI. Go prove something new like Navier Stokes (replicating N-S itself no longer counts due to scraping and plagiarism) on your Mac Pro!

Paid influencers who perpetuate the open narrative are a whole new industry.

Even if there were open models, it is still IP theft and would not be "democratization" but "forced unpaid nationalization".

Zsfe510asG··on Gemini 3.8 Live and 3.8 Live Extended Thinking
Gemini is underrated in that it produces the only prose that is somewhat bearable to read.
Zsfe510asG··on An AI deal with China could get Donald Trump his Nobel Prize
This is so shameless. The Economist ==> influences "elite" readers who will dangle the Nobel carrot in front of Trump ==> influence Trump (who does not read The Economist).
Zsfe510asG··on How accurate have Ed Zitron's AI skeptic predictions been?
It would matter if we had politicians who acted before bubbles collapse instead of bailing out the perpetrators after the fact.
Zsfe510asG··on How accurate have Ed Zitron's AI skeptic predictions been?
Zitron predicted the downfall of Oracle as someone mentioned below. He also predicted that the overhyped data center construction plans (Project Stargate, repeated vague Nvidia pledges) would not materialize.

If he got MSFT's cloud revenue growth wrong for this year, how much of that is selling shovels to OpenAI and how much is circular?

Zsfe510asG··on Terence Tao explains 6 essential mathematical concepts [video]
stillpointlab.com: "Get more from your LLM"

I'm sure that an admittedly great mathematician who is sponsored by the "AI for Math" fund and math.inc (which literally wants to corporatize mathematics!) is very appealing to LLM startups.

Zsfe510asG··on Silicon Valley is in denial in face of widespread backlash
SV is also in denial that AI is the final straw that makes people leave the Internet.
Zsfe510asG··on Silicon Valley is in denial in face of widespread backlash
It is more concrete now. For example the footage that was released about the Kirk shooter showed that you are filmed everywhere, including in residential areas.

People are beginning to understand.

Zsfe510asG··on Grok 4.6
So did they distill Mythos in the "Macrohard" data centers? Can Grok hack now and get a free AISI commercial?
Zsfe510asG··on Anthropic AI created fake profiles and impersonated people in attempted hack
AISI is one of the biggest promoters of OpenAI/Anthropic. The UK government of course submits to the US and favors these corporations as well as Palantir.

It is also a perfect demonstration why AI is so popular: Anyone can write about it, it is easy and not mentally demanding to create scenarios, tests and whitepapers.

So it is popular among bureaucrats and managers for their job security.

Zsfe510asG··on Postmortem for Kernel Soundness Bug #14576
There are humans who make very few mistakes. The presence of Claude in a project however tells you something about the attitude of the project:

- Probably too close to corporations.

- Does not care about slop.

We have seen many projects that adopted AI under corporate pressure circle the drain. Often the corporations themselves backpedaled after some months.

Zsfe510asG··on U.S. debt-to-GDP ratio reaches 123%
The wisdom was that the US dollar due to its exorbitant privilege (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exorbitant_privilege#Origin) can afford these debts.

Countries put up with it because the US "provided protection" and insured maritime freedom of navigation. Oh wait ...

Zsfe510asG··on A.I. companies are recruiting electricians and carpenters by the thousands
As long as Nvidia pays you to buy Nvidia, which the stock market increasingly does not like.

RAM manufacturers are falling, and today after the MSFT numbers are out we'll see additional CapEx worries.

Zsfe510asG··on The Dark Night of Mathematics
Yes, we'll have free health care, boomers will rent their apartments for $100, everyone will have UBI and a Tesla with a warp drive that travels to the terraformed Mars.

Hayek and Friedman predicted it!

Zsfe510asG··on Be skeptical of OpenAI's rogue hacker agent story
Finally mainstream news understands. The unfiltered version:

1) The AI failed to solve ExploitGym problems.

2) The OpenAI sandbox is such a horrible hack that the AI managed to escape using standard and well documented script kiddie methods.

3) Huggingface has no security and the AI broke in using standard script kiddie methods.

OpenAI and Huggingface covered it up and used it for public relations. That is, if not all was invented and everything was scripted in the first place in order to get desired regulations.

Huggingface reported it to the police, you say? I'm sure the police will have as much enthusiasm to investigate anything as in the Suchir Balaji case. In other words, zero.

Zsfe510asG··on Codeberg Divides
I see. We should not divide into camps so the Austrians can sell their AI startups.

The only people dividing and ruining open source are those paid for it by AI companies. Sometimes indirectly, like NumPy through its various sponsors. Then suddenly a bureaucrat appears on a mailing list or elsewhere and announces that AI contributions need to be allowed.

Zsfe510asG··on DARPA, U.S. Air Force fly AI-controlled F-16
I think that the strange comma placements are a red flag.
Zsfe510asG··on DARPA, U.S. Air Force fly AI-controlled F-16
The article smells of AI psychosis. They are already "orchestrating".

In the first Iraq war, they went in and won. In the second one, it took years to sort of occupy the country.

Now they struggle against Iran and "orchestrate" F-16s that can be shot down instantly by AA weapons. Since COVID the world has collectively lost its mind.

Zsfe510asG··on Airbus Takes Flight from AWS
Is Airbus still using Google workspaces for mail? Nice vector for industrial espionage.

Why did Airbus go to "the cloud" in the first place? It seems complete overkill for a company like that.

Zsfe510asG··on I found a WordPress RCEs with GPT5.6 and $25
There is no evidence that $500k has been paid or would be paid for an exploit like this one.

Given that the article says that prompts are modified like they are holy scripture, perhaps sell the prompt for $500k.

The author works for https://www.assetnote.io/ , which has AI products for automated scanning.

Zsfe510asG··on SpaceX stock drops to a new low and loses $1T in value in a month
Germans are getting an existential crisis if VW's profit is "only" $8 billion and unprofitable companies in the US are initially sold at $trillion market cap.

SpaceX is not a growth stock. The launch business is limited and circular with Starlink, Twitter is a loss and xAI's hardware rental business is being entered by Meta and others.

Zsfe510asG··on SpaceX stock drops to a new low and loses $1T in value in a month
The list contains target share prices, not market cap. $200 is way above the current $125.

The launch number is irrelevant. Starlink is SpaceX's largest customer and that is a problem. The revenue from launches is not great. The xAI fantasies are unproven.

Zsfe510asG··on Kimi K3, and what we can still learn from the pelican benchmark
Kimi is right out since they use classical music branding to sell their slop. At least McDonalds does not sell Verdi or Allegro burgers.

Why does Kimi not use a "Double Cheese Whammy" branding for "their" butchered and stolen IP?

Zsfe510asG··on US Corporate Insiders Are Selling Stocks at a Near Record Pace
It is obvious. All indices have been pumped up to insane heights since late 2024. KOSPI is crashing because the memory manufacturers are priced for continued bubble orders books. Those orders cannot be sustained and the selloff started in Korea, just as it did in the 2000 bubble.

The press is still instructed to avoid the word "cyclical" in connection with hardware, but the insiders remember 2000 very well.

If you watch daytrading, stocks like SpaceX or Micron are pumped up shortly after every opening so the insiders can sell higher during the day.

The insiders also own the press and analysts, so they desperately still construct positive narratives.

Zsfe510asG··on Evidence of inconsistencies in evaluation process and selection of winners
All AI companies have slop press sites that hype them up. What we saw since 2020 is the largest industrial propaganda campaign in history. It started with Lex Fridman planted interviews to make AI researchers appear human and ends with AI awarding AI prizes.

Mainstream journalists didn't know any better and thought they were reading secret inside information and parroted it - until now when the house of cards is collapsing.

Notice that the defense in the comment section is the Silicon Valley platitude that "it provides value". No sane person believes that any longer, only the financially invested and some SciFi trash addicts.
