Maybe it's a cultural difference, but excepting dysfunctional relationships the idea that your close friends and family are the wrong people to give you advice is almost dystopian.
"What is wrong with Times New Roman?"
"Pah! Are we Romans? Anyway, the prime minister prefers it."
And there's evidence of altruism's superiority even on a biological level. There are some species of bacteria that when they run out of food will form a protective spore to wait for better times or form a stalk to move to a new location to find food. Those whose bodies form the base of these structures are effectively sacrificed, even if they aren't intelligent enough to be aware of the act.
That said, it's simply undeniable that at the end of the day the force is the intrinsic and most rudimentary base of everything society has become.
Public parks, schools, social welfare programs, etc... All founded on a platform of violence and murder against anyone who challenges their authority.
To deny that is folly.
I find it's helpful to have actual timers and reminders and it sort of helps me keep pace on how fast the day is going and how much time I have left.
"My biggest skepticism of this theory is that it has been proven here in our molecule we cannot create or destroy atoms. Insofar as we know no atom has ever been added or removed from our molecule in the millions of plancks we have observed the known molecule for and none ever will."
"And for there to be an infinite number of molecules beyond the confines of our own - each with their own strange and exotic configuration expanding and changing off into eternity - you would need an infinite amount of atoms and electron fields to properly bind the vast regions of atoms. And as it's been well proven, atoms in this molecule are finite and unchanging."
That's not to imply they are bad parents, just that the kid went through a divorce, intense bullying, a change in schools, etc. and that trauma caused them to engage in activities that led to their parents installing the app.
I guess in a phrase have they shown causation?
The essence of the scientific method is taking what you think is true and proving it with a higher degree of accuracy.
This is why studies are repeated by other people, to see if the results match up.
They do simulations and petri dish testing as well, what would a better method look like?
I'm skeptical.
Most of the time it isn't some dark conspiracy but rather someone with enough stars on their shoulder said "Why is this even in the mission statement? Every organization should do that so it's implied, what the mission statement really needs is..."
I suppose you could configure the rogue AP to have one of those registration pages but the registration page tells them the WiFi will only work so long as they keep that tab open.
I like that movie, but it doesn't really add anything to the paper and even if it does I feel like this is the equivalent of saying "In Harry Potter a boy finds out he's special and goes on a magical adventure. Can we all find out we are special?"
It's more rhetoric than academic.
Echo chambers are a dangerous thing that people should be educated about early and often.
I'm not saying he's entirely wrong, but a lot of what he's saying sounds very much like how TV was once described.
This would allow showing advertisers a checkbox when they post an ad that asks whether they are okay with showing their ad on a dirty sub.
Pitch it to advertisers as you'll reach more people for the same cost, but your content may be shown by user posts that some may consider offensive.
There's probably some dip in the quality of products you get, but sometimes clients view shoddy and affordable as good enough... If they are even aware of the difference.
This would for example control for development environments and pet projects as compared to production projects running on the platform.
