XtremeDevX··on 2x faster, smarter test execution with LambdaTest Test At Scale
Really happy to have been a part of the team behind the Test at Scale platform!

LambdaTest Test at Scale is an intelligent test execution platform that cleverly selects the specific tests to run based on the changes made during a specific commit! This significantly speeds up your software testing pipeline and enables software teams to achieve a high velocity!

Currently TAS supports JavaScript testing frameworks like Jasmine, Jest and Mocha. It also supports Java, with more languages and frameworks coming soon :)

Check out their repository at https://github.com/lambdatest/test-at-scale

XtremeDevX··on Show HN: Fleet – Experimental build tool for Rust that’s up to 5x faster
This is exactly what we do, move the target/ directory on a ramdisk.
XtremeDevX··on Show HN: Fleet – Experimental build tool for Rust that’s up to 5x faster
Our main goal building fleet was to make it really easy to have an optimized CI/CD pipeline and local development process for faster builds.

Our go-to linker was actually mold until we realized that their license is not compatible with ours.

We also use shared-generics to try to speed up builds, along with the ramdisk that I previously mentioned.

It also uses ramdisk on WSL or for those who use hard-drives for builds.

Also great question about using nightly, we're using a shared-generics flag that requires nightly (and speeds up build times).

We're working on making this more configurable to enable / disable what features you want.

XtremeDevX··on Show HN: Electric – A fast, futuristic Package Manager For Windows
Hey guys I'm Tejas a 14 year old.

Say hi to Electric! Website: https://electric.sh

Built over 9 months, Electric (Open Source) is the easiest and fastest way to install and manage software on Windows.

Electric allows you to install, uninstall and update any software using a simple command. Just open your terminal, and type `electric install s/w-name`! Boom, in a few seconds, the software will be installed on your PC. Electric is one of the first package managers which can install multiple software in parallel!

Electric runs the installer silently - you don't even see the installer popup! It goes through all those complicated menus so you don't have to and voila! Just like that, you've installed the software. Electric does the downloading, virus checking, installing and verifying if the software is installed correctly – with love, speed and accuracy.

Today electric has support for the 300 most popular software and it's growing each day. You can view all package electric can install at https://github.com/electric-package-manager/electric-package....

Electric is open source and it's built with a combination of Python and Rust. Some of the more performant components like the tab completion module and the installer (setting up web registry urls etc.) are written in Rust. Majority of the software however, is written in Python 3.
