Vishal_TE··on 'Exercised' Explains Why It Can Be Hard to Commit to Working Out
> 3. DO NOT treat exercise as a priority. Because then it is subject to your other priorities. Instead, make it a habit.

This is the key to making it work. It's not about commitment, it's about making a part of your daily routine, like brushing your teeth. Commitments are easy to break, habits are easy to keep.

Vishal_TE··on The Platform Is the Enemy
People also need to think for themselves and take responsibility for their actions. Remember the case where someone got millions for spilling hot coffee on himself? Hot coffee is hot and it's the drinkers responsibility to not spill it. We can't blindly follow what we read or see. If we do that, there won't be any issue.

The other problem is that platforms try to be the arbiters of truth. That can't work because most things are in shades of gray. When platforms take sides, the other side feels slighted.

Vishal_TE··on A new SaaS metric for demonstrating the ROI of community
It's just a different name for virality/word of mouth/organic growth etc.
Vishal_TE··on Ask HN: What blog platform to use for my SaaS
WordPress remains the best platform for blogging. You should always self-host the blog because you can control it. There isn't any traffic advantage of hosting it on Medium - you need to build your own traffic. WordPress is easy to install, configure and manage. WP developers are affordable
Vishal_TE··on Ask HN: How to get a first customer when you only have hobby-level demos?
Show it first to people you know in the industry and ask them about how they would use it. Get some good use cases from them to demo. Better still, ask them to try it for free and give you feedback. You can't do it with strangers so stick to your friends or FoF. Tanking a product that you think is half-baked to real prospects is a recipe for disaster.
