Ooh, I had one of those in high school, saved up for months! I loved that thing - lots of space, it read song info from the files, supported playlists and had space for dozens of albums! DOZENS! Admittedly it ate 4 AA batteries in as many hours, but who cares? It was just as big as a discman, but SO MUCH MORE AWESOME. Used it every day on the school bus.

I kinda wanted an iPod when they came out, but as I grew up in a strict Dos & Windows home, that was out of the question.

A full time shift job with no overtime at a normal grocery store (40 hrs/week) should earn you about 350 000 - 400 000 nok, or usd 42-48k

Keep in mind the cost of living is high in Oslo.

Not sure if relevant, but in Oslo today a half-foot sub-of-the-day with no drinks runs you $5.50 canadian. A big mac with a menu is $14.50

I tried a few episodes of sleep with me, and it creeped me right the hell out. It was some guy talking in a pouty, condescending baby-voice about some nonsense or other. His voice especially threw me off.

Dan Carlin is great, but way too intense and interesting for me to sleep to. I pay attention to the podcast and want to hear "just another 20 minutes" instead. 99% invisible is perfect in this regard. Roman has a great voice, good editing and nice, mellow music in his production. I listen to it a lot.

I also like to listen to The Moth, Hello Internet, Radiolab and Benjamin Walker's theory of everything when I go to sleep.

Have you used Intellij IDE or any of the related IDEs? I use it every day for various stacks and languages but have no experience with Xcode. I'm a little curious about how they compare.
