Vheissu··on Show HN: Register for Dust's 48-Hour MVP Hackathon on October 18
Nothing inspires confidence in a hackathon than its webpage title being, "Your Site Title"
Vheissu··on Google trying to win Firefox users back
After all of the issues I have run into with Chrome the last year or so, after switching back to Firefox about 1.5 months ago it would take a lot to "win" we back. Chrome has become too bloated, too sluggish and resource intensive. After using Firefox again for the first time in like 2 years, it felt like using a whole new browser again.
Vheissu··on Things Every JavaScript Developer Should Know
Great article. Surprisingly refreshing to see a long-form post about Javascript. I know it isn't exactly the sexiest of languages, but I agree that developers should make an effort to get familiar with its inner workings a little better.

I believe thanks in part to frameworks like Angular and even libraries like Reactjs, developers are starting to dig deeper and learn more about Javascript than just jQuery and its methods which usually hide the complex or sometimes they make it more complicated than it needs to be.

We need more of these articles. Took me a while to read, but it was well worth it.

Vheissu··on Show HN: Gif2sprite – Convert animated GIFs to image sprites and CSS
This is really cool shame about the lack of style though, but it seems to work really well. I could see use in this for being able to pause, play and rewind animated gifs. Seems you also reduce the size of the original gif converting it which could offer some benefits, I uploaded a 1.5mb gif and it reduced it to a 700kb sprite. If you supplied a Javascript plugin to be able to use the sprites as gifs in the zip download, it would make this so much better. Good job, nice and original idea.
Vheissu··on Avaaz website under massive attack, from a government or large corporation?
Site seems pretty snappy to me. Maybe people donated to their "defence fund" and kept the site running, hahaha. Seriously though, 36 hour DDOS attacks from the government or a large corporation? Why would people bother.
