I think any Canadian that identifies as “far left” would find your post hysterical. They don’t even have a party to vote for anymore - best they can do is a begrudging vote for the NDP. This country has been on a rightward shift for decades. e.g. look at the hard push towards privatization of government services in Ontario.
I’ve noticed a ton of non-Canadians like to reference this event as if it’s some incredible example of government tyranny gone too far. Nearly anyone who lived in Ottawa during this time (like me) would say the police completely failed the city, and the “protests” went on for literal weeks too long due to inaction and incompetence by all levels of government.
I don’t understand how this is a constitutional violation like you claim. Let’s pretend he posted something absurd on Twitter for arguments sake, like “I’m going to use my rockets to kill every endangered bird on every California beach”, do you think that should not be considered when evaluating the request for more launches?
This guy is literally advocating for Nazi eugenics. Is this the kind of content that’s OK on this website now?
Given the downvotes, guess there are plenty of people here that are pro-eugenics and support thinning the herd of “low IQ individuals” lest they reproduce.
This is quite obviously not a “real” syndrome caused by foreign adversaries. The physics, scale of “attack”, timeline, vagueness of symptoms, etc, all do not add up to a coherent phenomenon. Please put your skeptic hats on regarding this subject.
Quite the claim and hyperbole. I’m fairly certain the exact opposite will happen because most people are not tech savvy and will not bother to circumvent the blocks in place. Some local alternatives will pop up and they’ll use that instead. Twitter is also no longer the town hall of the internet, or whatever people were calling it.
In this case was X not explicitly asked to remove the illegal content? They could have simply complied with the local law and avoided this outcome. With their hardcore engineers I’m sure they could have come up with a region-locked solution.
Well this is fun. Nice to see a government with some teeth for once instead of bowing to the whims of every multibillion mega corporation or agitated billionaire.
I’m watching the excellent Ken Burns documentary “The Vietnam War” right now, and this is a subject that is briefly touched on. The US was collecting such a vast amount of data and metrics during their war, quantifying everything, that they simply could not process it all. They didn’t have the minds or the manpower to make sense of it all.
We are already in the midst of a massive extinction event. It’s called the holocene extinction, you can research it. There is an ongoing collapse of biodiversity at a rapid rate.
Our company recently mandated everyone nuke their calendars of all recurring internal meetings to kick off 2024. Then, only add back the ones that provide value. It was a good exercise that definitely helped clear up my calendar.
