Vecrios··on Twitter Names Jack Dorsey Chief Executive
Chris Sacca would sleep very soundly tonight.

Jokes aside, I think Jack is the man for the job. He has proven capable in square. I hope he does the same with Twitter. The company needs to take advantages of the huge market share it has.

Vecrios··on Show HN: Git-remote-dropbox – use Dropbox as a true Git server
I'm still not sold on the idea of using Dropbox and Git on the same folder. Would anyone mind explaining the benefits of having such setup?
Vecrios··on Gotty – Share your terminal as a web application
Anyone sending to localhost (the IP of the machine running this) would have access to said command line, and can do as they please.
Vecrios··on Soylent hits back at legal threat: ‘We display Prop 65 warnings'
Could someone shine some light on why the U.S. is not following such rule? I can't see that many downsides to it, IMHO.
Vecrios··on Microsoft's Windows 10 privacy headache extends into gaming
It seems like Microsoft is still staying quiet about this. They need to start declaring were they are going with all those privacy-related concerns.
Vecrios··on Jeff Bezos Responds to the Amazon NYT Article
Sure, it might be the case that some employees are having the time of their life and enjoying their jobs. However, all that talk about the sweatshop work conditions of Amazon employees can't be all hearsay. To the very least, Jeff should act and investigate the issue instead of completely refuting it.

IMO, investigating the issue and acting upon it is a better move for Amazon's employees and PR.

Vecrios··on Ask HN: What are your mostly frueqented sites?
I'm asking because I wanted to expand the sites that I visit daily. More specifically, I want more sites that have good articles about software dev/current tech.
Vecrios··on A collection of postmortems
I found it hilarious that they didn't even bother writing a description for Healthcare.gov.
Vecrios··on YC Backs Portable Coffee Stand Called Wheelys (YC S15) to Take on Starbucks
I love the idea. I see it become a huge success in highly populated cities (e.g. New York).
Vecrios··on YC Backs Portable Coffee Stand Called Wheelys (YC S15) to Take on Starbucks
I'd have much preferred an honest and evidence-driven response instead of a sarcastic one. This kind of attitude won't help your cause, nor your startups, get the good kind of traction at all. Some food for thought.

Good luck!

Vecrios··on A minimal blog engine written in Go, compatible with Ghost themes
Dang, this was next on my side projects ideas. Looks good though.

Vecrios··on 2015 Chromebook Pixel
Here comes the USB-C port hype train, choochoo!
Vecrios··on “This change deletes the C implementations of the Go compiler and assembler”
Thank you both for your inputs.
Vecrios··on My experience of interviewing for a job at Apple
Isn't this why they are a top-tier company? I mean, their selectivity is what makes their company great as a whole.
Vecrios··on “This change deletes the C implementations of the Go compiler and assembler”
So, if I'm understanding this correctly, they are to re-write the Go compiler in Go, and compile it using the currently published compiler (i.e. 1.4)?

Could someone, kindly, explain how future versions would be built? Thanks!

Vecrios··on Alan Turing's notes found being used as roof insulation at Bletchley Park
That's quite a Turn in ones career.
Vecrios··on Flexbugs: a list of flexbox bugs and cross-browser solutions to them
I'm currently in the process of designing my website using Flexbox. I love it, but ran into the problem of min-height. This should come in for sure. Thanks!
Vecrios··on Amethyst – A tiling window manager for OS X

Vecrios··on Amethyst – A tiling window manager for OS X
What's the benefit of using this vs. WMs like SizeUp?

I'm asking this question because I'm quite comfortable with SizeUp and don't understand if learning how to use a WM is worth it.

Vecrios··on Quantum OS - OS based on Linux which conforms to Material Design guidelines
So much negativity in these comments. Instead of saying "why?" or "MD is for mobile screens," present your opinions in a factual matter to support your arguments.

I personally don't prefer the MD/Metro look design philosophy. This stems from the fact that I believe in designs that help accomplish a task, not prettify it for the sole of prettifying it.

Vecrios··on Cursors
Wow! First impression: this is stupid. Played for two minutes, couldn't stop for a 15 minutes. Congrats on creating a truly fun game from a simple idea.
Vecrios··on Wayback Machine Hits 400,000,000,000
I still cannot fathom how they are able to store huge amounts of data and not run out of space. Care anyone to explain?
Vecrios··on Computer Science from the Bottom Up
I like the introduction with a "new" approach, even though I do not necessarily agree with it. Speaking in 0's and 1's is extremely daunting for someone who wants to learn about CS, IMHO.
Vecrios··on Obama to hit Y Combinator headquarters in Mountain View on May 8
The comments in here are snarky hilarious. Love HN!
Vecrios··on Why is a minute divided into 60 seconds, an hour into 60 minutes?
There is so much interesting information in the article that people really forget what they came for, the answer to the proposed title question.

Personally, I wasn't upset at all. I really liked the article although it had a deceiving title.

Vecrios··on Anatomy of a cheap USB-to-Ethernet adapter
What do you mean by "[Apple] don't cut corners"? Serious question.
Vecrios··on Learning how to think
I have a questions that is irrelevant to the article per se, but rather the design of the web page. Is blog organized by a CMS or the design is entirely of Dustin's creation (I'm pretty sure I've seen it before?) I'm specially interested in the blog design, I like it.
Vecrios··on Seriously.js
You never know.
Vecrios··on Seriously.js
Curious, why would you think so?
Vecrios··on BitTorrent’s Secure Dropbox Alternative Goes Public
I'm calling this Dropbox for geeks from now on. Looks very promising, though.
