Most modern Windows code was written in 1995. Don't assume for one moment that it isn't in production Win11 today.
Just like Recall, it's completely DOA.
The gold standard remains to code things yourself.
LLMs are too weak security-wise to be contained.
In practice, operationally, none of this is solved. Every website/app/platform handles logins differently. Some are still doing SMS 2FA, some still do passwords, some implemented passkeys in the wrong way, some are doing app based MFA, some are doing magic links, some are doing email codes.
You can't in good faith say this is "solved" when it's just more complicated than ever, and the UX is terrible (passkeys, cough)
I suggest you read 1984. It ended up being a field guide.
It's incredibly depressing.
I would recommend being very careful with them.
With an LLM you do zero of those things. I don't understand how you don't get that.
Yeah no this is just incorrect. There's many cases where jailbreaking actually fixes issues when a vendor abandons the platform. It also enables usefulness for a product long after it's been EOL'd.
Bill was in charge of MS at the time, he should not only have known how Windows works at this level (Dave Cutler on NT anyone?), he should have been able to figure this out.
Installing Movie Maker was easy back then and it is still easy now (on XP).
Anyone suggesting it is actively contributing to the grift and their statements are to be completely disregarded.
Simple things like easily copying paths (and no, not with a weird keyboard shortcut nobody uses - a simple GUI method, preferably with an address bar, which Finder also lacks), copy queuing (pause queued copies rather than shotgun them all at once), cutting files (FFS why is this feature outright missing? There is an awkward keyboard shortcut to move a copied file but it's frankly not the same), broken views (icon view sends most files offscreen, and even maximizing doesn't bring them back into the confines of the window), idiotic keyboard shortcuts (Cmd O opens a file, Enter renames it? No other OS does this). I could go on and on.
Finder is a rare case in macOS where Windows actually outclasses it in every way.
Random blog dealing with spam problems blocks gmail (the most used email) wholesale?
Not exactly going to stop the world from turning here.
In the 90s and 2000s, they considered Linux a cancer, and only kept macOS alive for antitrust reasons.
This isn't about running VMs.
