Ultron··on Google Reader is dead
Good Lord people. Get on with your lives!
Ultron··on Girl buys water, spends night in jail
It could possibly be worse. The typical response is something like yours, but there's the outside chance they'll pile on more charges for a longer prison sentence. That's good for the economy because the US has many privately run prisons to fill.
Ultron··on Misinformation on NSA programs includes statements by senior U.S. officials
Thanks for sharing that. Absolutely fascinating and chilling.
Ultron··on On Medium
Medium is for writers who don't know how to brand. Medium essentially takes all the credit, traffic and recognition. And the writers seem to like that, weirdly enough.
Ultron··on Why Germany Should Offer Snowden Asylum
I'm not so sure. If Germany doesn't get honest information on the true scale and intention of US spying, they know Snowden will have answers. This is a matter of national security for Germany.

For Germany, this is like discovering their "friendly neighbor" across the street is a peeping tom. The relationship is already compromised.

Ultron··on Julian Assange: Edward Snowden is ‘marooned in Russia’
Snowden is a symbol and a sign of the future.

If the US government gets their hands on Snowden, and gets their way, I am absolutely certain America will plunge into an even darker era of deception and thought control.

Even now, most Americans are too brainwashed to care.

Ultron··on Julian Assange: Edward Snowden is ‘marooned in Russia’
That's unfair. Wikileaks got involved because they wanted to help. Things haven't worked out as planned.

HN readers are so fickle. The biggest wafflers on the internet. You will find no loyalty here.

Ultron··on I Used DuckDuckGo for a Week and Had to Switch Back. Here’s why.
I personally value my privacy and liberty over a few additional nanoseconds of waiting, or what might be not as refined results.

This article isn't insightful or original, only pathetic. The attitude shows you how many in the US are unwilling to make even the tiniest sacrifice to preserve a human right like not having all you information surveyed, recorded and stored for Big Brother to use against you.

Sad.

Ultron··on Jimmy Wales outing Snowden on Wikipedia
In regards to Snowden, these aren't leaks but whistleblowing on worldwide privacy and human rights violations.
Ultron··on [dead]
"You're gonna want this" said the spider to the fly.
Ultron··on Edward Snowden has not entered Russia - Sergei Lavrov
Do a Duck Duck Go search for it and you'll find it.
Ultron··on Ask HN: is finding an idea a major bottleneck for you?
No, but finding the right idea is.
Ultron··on Edward Snowden has not entered Russia - Sergei Lavrov
Obama is also an incredibly skilled actor and manipulator. You have no idea.

Check out this 67 page examination of Obama's use of covert hypnosis techniques during his 2007/2008 election campaign [PDF]: http://tinyurl.com/5zyxsy

Sounds pretty far fetched right? Obama would never do such a thing. Besides, the American people would never fall for that...

Ultron··on Open Letter to the NY Post: Snowden is a Hero, Not a Traitor
The Post is a huge joke. It's trash. But it's nice there is a response to their poisonous rant.
Ultron··on Razor Thin Margins Make Construction Ripe for Innovation
Disruption may be in finding gold where others see garbage, like the Banana King did: http://cbpowerandindustrial.wordpress.com/2013/04/10/you-cou...
Ultron··on Ask HN: Can we please slow down the stories about Edward Snowden?
This is the most riveting real-life drama in history, and it's unfolding before our eyes. I want more stories on Snowden, not less (although my productivity will surely suffer).

Besides, half the stuff that gets voted up to front page is regurgitated anyway.

Ultron··on Sacrificing everything for my dog. How I became a programmer
I just didn't see how karma fit in to the story.

That said, anyone who is a friend of animals is a friend of mine.

Ultron··on Ecuador has received asylum request from NSA leaker Snowden
Snowden has awakened the whole world to the surveillance leviathan that is the US. The US have been the one world government for awhile now, it's just that most people (and countries) refused to see it until now.

The C&D to the Bitcoins Foundation is no surprise either. It's in the cross hairs of the US government and it can't be allowed to exist. Read the book Cypherpunks and you'll find out why. I'm sure those in power know the book well.

Ultron··on Ask HN: After PRISM will you use social networks differently?
I switched smartphones, from iPhone to the BlackBerry Z10 which has built in encryption. A friend was teasing me that drug users use BlackBerry (for said reason), but according to the US government we're all guilty until proven innocent anyway.

I also got the hell off of all Google products and Skype.

Has the switch been a hassle? Somewhat, but I'm unable to ignore the fact my communications are being read, recorded and stored to be later used against me.

Ultron··on OpenStreetMap creates and distributes free geographic data for the world
I think BlackBerry maps has global reach (and BlackBerry is a Canadian company).
Ultron··on Google challenges U.S. gag order, citing First Amendment
Maybe Google has a business relationship with the NSA. It's likely the reason Google hasn't added encryption and never will - the boss doesn't want it.
