Because each time those in opposition much launch a larger more costly campaign and take time out of their normal productive jobs.
Proposing bullshit legislation does not cost the Congressmen/women anything extra, and at times can actually be profitable for them.
They can just bring it up next week and we all have to drop everything again and try to defeat it. Eventually people get fatigued or decide the continued fight is no longer worth it.
Yep, subsidies never go wrong.

But, last I checked, polygraphs were required for certain government positions in the U.S, but am having a problem finding a citation for that right now.
If there is trouble finding people to hire because they are all out starting their own companies that means one or two things:
1) There is an over supply of management. Developers/engineers are able to manage themselves effectively enough that they do not need to spend their time enriching someone else.
2) Engineers are turning to their own business plans because that is the only way to get adequately compensated.
I think #2 is more likely. I believe we are seeing the start of a shift towards engineers making as much or more than the management/CEO types. Engineering bargaining power is on the rise and will only continue to get stronger.
The same way the NAACP was embraced over the Black Panther Party.

It has its uses.
It is impossible to police drugs. Drugs even get into US max security prisons. The most fucking locked down place on Earth. If you can't eradicate it there how do you plan on eradicating it outside?
I am taking a database management class this semester. Its awful. We spent over half the semester drawing diagrams. Just last week we started working with actual SQL.
