That new title confused me at first... maybe I'm the only one. The actual title of the article is more clear to me.

HN title: "Zero arrests in 6 months of health care professionals replacing police officers"

Google is going to pay for the hassle? I bet not... they just want most open source projects to disappear. That would be worst then evil in my book.

While it worked in that case, it is not an invincible method.

but what matters is free speech... if we can no longer have it hosted in the US for the Internet, it doesn't really matter where the free speech is hosted (also, maybe we can host free speech for Russia in the US?).

Give me Parler's software and I will host it in Russia... that's where USA's free speech usually come from anyways (free as in somewhat controversial, popular and still allowed).

I think I say a lot of somewhat controversial things, but they let it fly because I am not popular.

I use RSS in a way that doesn't incite me to read everything... there is no unread status on any of the feed elements.

I do too, but we don't get security updates. It is ridiculous that they went backward like this.

If someone has a better explanation then Google paying them for doing that, please let me know. I think Mozilla's new CEO is a sock puppet like most of the sheep out there (including me sometimes).

And Google is probably paying Mozilla so that they block those cookies too... I think that they might have paid them for other things too... like for blocking 99% of extensions on Firefox mobile (those are speculations, that are very probable).

It is not externally accessible... only the home VPN is (I'm also using DDNS just in case my semi-static IPv4 changes). But of course nothing is 100% secure.

It would surprise me if Google didn't keep everything. Harvesting data is part of their business model.

At my house I used to have about 5 new red wasp nest under the soffit every year... Very easy to get rid of with that wasp spray that goes 15-20ft if you catch it early.

I wanted to disable my margin account on RH but I didn't find how... luckily I no longer do business with them.

I'm glad I left RH about a month ago because I didn't even suffer from their non-sense (I left 2 weeks after I signed up). I left them because I didn't like their website/interface.

Don't put all of your eggs in the same basket.

I have no clue how anyone, especially edge funds, could get majorly impacted by just one stock moving the wrong way.

I have stocks in my portfolio that move 25 to 50% the wrong way almost everyday and I still get about 1% overall gain daily in this bull market (which is probably not great in this economy).
