Tinyyy··on The End of Headphone Jacks, the Rise of DRM
Like better SoCs?
Tinyyy··on The End of Headphone Jacks, the Rise of DRM
The utility of the audio port as a data jack is so minuscule compared to the impact and backlash of removing the 3.5mm port that I don’t think it is much of a factor at all.
Tinyyy··on A Design Defect Is Breaking iPhone 6 Pluses
I can't seem to find a book of that title, can you be more specific? Thanks!

What does full compensation mean? The public market rate? Or the prison market rate because the risks and negative aspects of hiring prisoners mean that the demand for prisoners is low?
Tinyyy··on “We have been experiencing a catastrophic DDoS attack”
Bandwidth is cheap but attacks are cheap too.
Tinyyy··on The Ethereum Classic Declaration of Independence
I thought meanings should not be literal but based on interpretation? Is that principle thrown out of the window again?
Tinyyy··on The Ethereum Classic Declaration of Independence
That's technically true but not actually so and is very misleading. Quoting you,

Tinyyy··on Hard Forks
You can already create legal contracts easily - sign on a piece of paper. This piece of paper is interpreted by a relatively robust legal system with a long history. How is Ethereum going to do better than that if a disagreement is settled not by inspecting the code, but by the opinion of an arbitrary community of miners?
Tinyyy··on Stick a Fork in Ethereum
The vote was used to set default options in the client.
Tinyyy··on Qt WebBrowser 1.0
Is it just me or is their homepage (http://qt.io) completely broken?

Elaborate?
Tinyyy··on Passive TCP/IP Geo-Location
Assuming that the user only uses one proxy, you can use GeoIP to get his proxy location, and then if you account for the proxy-webserver distance, you can get a pretty accurate geolocation.
Tinyyy··on Google Fiber agrees to acquire Webpass
I'm curious, why is it that business plans are so much more expensive than residential ones?
Tinyyy··on Ethereum is Doomed
The point of Ethereum is to provide something that is different from the real world. If not, it is simply fiat, except that it is 1000 times more inefficient and burns up loads of electricity.

Note that the signature hasn’t been verified yet.
Tinyyy··on Critical Update on DAO Vulnerability
And how are they going to do that?
Tinyyy··on Critical Update on DAO Vulnerability
> (The soft fork) will later be followed up by a hard fork which will give token holders the ability to recover their ether.

Does this mean that transactions are going to be rolled back?

If so, are they planning to do this everytime a vulnerability is exploited? Is The DAO too big to fail?

Is there a way to get the position (coordinates) of the face as well, just like it is on Facebook?

Tinyyy··on Tor Browser 6.0 is released
It has a Core M though.
Tinyyy··on Reddit launches image uploads, ditching alliance with Imgur
It still redirects on iOS Safari.
Tinyyy··on Automated Testing for League of Legends
On the other hand, Valve tends to treat bugs differently with Dota 2.

They have a test client in which a small group of players can test out new patches and find bugs. Recently when patch 6.87 was released, they practically skipped the test client and deployed it straight to the main client. The result was that there were all sorts of bugs in the game, but they worked really quickly to fix them so that after a few days, they were almost all gone. I think Valve's mentality is that it is more efficient for their large player base to beta test for them instead.

Also, there's been a few times when the game is literally unplayable for one or two hours because Valve pushed a random update.

I think your definition of open source is flawed.

Kinda cool, but pretty bad on mobile.

Tinyyy··on Show HN: A Forth-inspired game to teach kids programming
As someone who doesn’t know Forth and is relatively new to programming, I have no idea what is going on here.
Tinyyy··on A Canvas Made of Pixels
Wow this is incredibly cool! I love the shy feature especially, to screw with the viewer :P

One question I have, though, is that since the aspect ratio of the screen is fixed, does that mean that all the photos have to be rescaled? That is kinda inelegant, I wonder if there's a way to fix it.
