(http://hnnotify.com/ - You should use this if you don't already!)
It seems like only yesterday I had to sit through a two hour meeting to convince us that printing things is a needless expense now we're all supposed to be using laptops and iPads! Wait a second....it was only yesterday!
(For the uneducated: In the UK ALL hospital/doctors treatments are covered by the NHS, in Wales all medicines and prescriptions are covered by the NHS and in England you pay a maximum of £6.50 (~$10) for any/all medicinal prescriptions regardless of actual cost/value)
Seriously: "America" the only country left in the western world without a national healthcare system....
Either way DRM will not go down well with the tech scene if/when "3d replicators" really start to take off!
Overzealous intrusive adverts really turn me off...
(Yes I know should be using adblock plus etc., on friends computer right now!)
Almost every developer I know who works for a large studio is paid by the hour for the work they do, not paid in stock, promises of shares of future royalties or in magic beans!
I'm not sure I want to live in a world where people help make one single (semi-popular) product and expect to live off it for the rest of their lives...
Once you get the impression your invoice will go unpaid either take legal action like most 'civilised' people, or just take it on the chin and walk away (warning other developers off if you like...)!
...shame on you Obama and every other politicunt being paid handsomely to push the MPAA/RIAA's agenda!
Interesting note: would this be a single copyright breach, or would it have been breached for every person who 'illegally' received (their terminolgy: stole) it?
...but it is Monday morning, so I haven't woken up properly yet!
Unfortunately, either way, I don't think anything serious will come of this!
Many an hour has been spent sat outside, usually round a camp fire, with friends locating planets and other points of interest, walking round pointing my phone at the sky looking like a loon to the uninitiated! I find it very VERY encouraging that this product wasn't just left alone to die a graceful death of old age, but that it will be dissected in front of all, enabling the knowledge and skill imbued in its programming to live on in educating the next generation of programmers. .. I hope it inspires them as much as it inspired me!
Thanks Google!
They were paying for their bandwidth, along with all their users (legitimate or otherwise!), so what's the issue?
= 1.2% conversion, if my sleep deprived brain is still working!
Was anyone expecting more?
shuttered is a form of: shut·ter verb /ˈSHətər/ shuttered, past participle; shuttered, past tense; shuttering, present participle; shutters, 3rd person singular present
Close the shutters of (a window or building) - the windows were shuttered against the afternoon heat - barred and shuttered stores
Close (a business) - the city was gripped by economic forces that were squeezing its tax base and shuttering its factories
While it does have more of a sedative effect than alcohol, I don't think you can count is as healthier unless you're eating it or vaporising it!
Also in my (entirely subjective) experience I find it harder to wake up in the morning, given the same amount of sleep as sober days. No 'hangover' as such, but definitely feel more groggy for the first hour or so after waking!
