ThrowAwayChris··on The antitrust case against Google Search doesn't seem to add up
Literally nothing qualifies, that's the crux. Nothing is monopolization as defined by legislation because congress didn't do the work to define anything.

The entire antitrust regime from it's inception, all of the caselaw, is a mixture of judicial activism, chest thumping, and executive branch blackmail. It should all be struct down. Start again.

Under what law are apple's actions prosecutable?

The problem with this whole mess is that monopoly, monopolization, and monopolistic practices were not defined by legislation. Legislation in fact provides no definitions whatsoever. The entirety of Section 2 of the Sherman Antitrust Act is comprised of a single run on sentence.

It's all well and good to be all "it's Mabo, it's justice, it's the vibe" over this, but congress hasn't provided legislation required to regulate competitive markets.

>How much is this monthly premium? We are talking about 50USD, 500USD, more?

Depends on who you are, where you are, who you're employed by, the ability of your employer to negotiate a deal, the willingness of your employer to provide "Cadillac" coverage to their workforce, and how much secret data broker information the insurance cartel has specifically on you and your prior medical conditions.

The thing about healthcare in America is that everything is unregulated and completely opaque. Prices are impossible to find at time of use, impossible to negotiate, and for most customers facing a medical catastrophe they will be both "unconscious" and "out of network". If you have a serious out of network emergency that your dodgy insurance doesn't cover you could be up for anywhere between $50k and several million dollars and filing for bankruptcy the day you leave the hospital.

If I had a very serious car crash with a helicopter evacuation and a lengthy hospital stay due to a spinal injury, a million might not cover it.

ThrowAwayChris··on The hijacking of rare Japanese KitKats
It's a reduced sugar bitter dark chocolate kitkat that they know kids won't like. Hence "Otona No Amasa" or "sweetness for adults" marketing. They have a bunch of flavors under that subbrand.

It's a Sony, you should be worried that it's being supported at the time they released it. Akio Morita is rolling in his grave.

I bought my S10e for 450AUD ($300US) on clearance six months after it was released. I've replaced the factory rom, and the battery once.

There's nothing on the android market like it, it's only slightly larger than the iphone 12/13 mini that's also discontinued. Small phones with all the bells and whistles aren't made anymore by anyone. I will be very sad when I can't get parts.

We just need some sort of "search engine" that can find it. If only such a thing existed.

Baidu is fully integrated into the Party's censorship apparatus and delivers absolutely nothing of use for many categories of query. Couldn't even search for wrist watches for a while.

I've tried Kagi and I want to love it but the index is just too small to be useful. I come back about once a month and try again.

Bing/DDG have never respected quotes or verbatim, not that Google does anymore either. None of the majors, including Kagi, are surfacing community forums that I know exist and have a permissive robots.txt.

I've been suspecting orders from on high have been suppressing the discovery of organic content and forums for a while. Ten year old Quora questions and some cherry picked reddit content ranked against a keyword blocklist isn't all there is on the internet. But that's all the Bing/Google based engines show.
