TheSisb2··on Material Design Lite Components in HTML/CSS/JS
No problem.
TheSisb2··on Material Design Lite Components in HTML/CSS/JS
I love the design, but I'm finding a lot of the animations aren't smooth. I'm on Chrome 43.

TheSisb2··on Scientists reverse aging in human cell lines and give theory of aging a new life
Allowing people to live indefinitely/much longer than currently won't make the world a better place. Children humble and ground adults. Younger brains are more malleable and young people carry newer gene evolutions. Our species would halt exactly where we are, ignorance would never vanish, our species would stop adapting.

80 year old racists would be 200 year old racists.

TheSisb2··on Delivering Fast JavaScript Performance in Microsoft Edge
A Virtual Machine is the machine I meant, sorry.
TheSisb2··on Delivering Fast JavaScript Performance in Microsoft Edge
Unless I'm going crazy, I don't think your comment makes grammatical sense. Both of those options are made to sound bad (without upsides, also have to pay?)

In any case, I'm not doubting that it's easier to pitch an update if it's free. All I'm saying is that purchase cost isn't the main or only barrier to Microsoft software updates.

TheSisb2··on Delivering Fast JavaScript Performance in Microsoft Edge
Getting people to the latest version is the problem. People are still reportedly using IE7! Upgrading isn't about purchase cost, it's about labor cost and general know-how.

I honestly thought IE11 would be the last major IE release, guess I was wrong. This new one looks no better.

TheSisb2··on Delivering Fast JavaScript Performance in Microsoft Edge
It seems like they are. To those people down voting this comment because it comes off as a snark, it has some merit. Web developers need a new machine just to test the new IE. We already have to use multiple VMs or some other solution to test IE6-11 since you can't have more than one IE installed at a time. This just makes web development that much more difficult since now if a bug is reported in the new IE the engineer who is assigned that ticket needs access to that environment. I really hope the Microsoft team gets the hint and has one IE that is universal, across all OSs, with continued updates (Like Firefox or Chrome). It's very rare that you actually need to dive into Firefox versions or Chrome versions, but every IE issue needs the version listed specifically.
TheSisb2··on Sprite: a different drone
Couldn't you add more battery? Sure it's more weight but I'd imagine more battery would result in slightly higher power output and an increase in flight duration. The added weight would help against wind gusts too.
TheSisb2··on Sprite: a different drone
My one concern with all these new drones that keep popping up is the flight duration. This one is among the worst I've seen: "... flight endurance, which is currently around 12 minutes". Others in the market don't seem to be much better, clocking around 30mins - 1hr per flight.

Are any of these able to fly a preset, waypoint path for two or more hours? I don't want to be thinking about the landing just as soon as it gets up in the air.

TheSisb2··on How a Russian Syndicate Scammed Us for $25K
To be honest, if this stops these guys from scamming someone else I'd call it a win. The internet is still a bit of a wild wild west, especially when dealing with people from foreign countries. If someone robs you or breaks into your house, you have the right to defend yourself.
TheSisb2··on Introducing T3: Enabling Large Scale JavaScript Applications
Interesting approach. Thanks and congratulations on your release!
TheSisb2··on Introducing T3: Enabling Large Scale JavaScript Applications
Exactly what I was thinking. Also a lot of comments here seem to be upset at "yet another JS framework". T3 is actually pretty nice from what I've seen so far and does follow best practices.

TheSisb2··on Can art still shock?
A lot of 'shock' is taking something considered some form of 'sacred' (like sex, religion, etc) and making a mockery of that 'sacred' thing or way of thinking.

As jerf said, people are kind of used to shock-jockeys nowadays by being aware of that repetitive pattern, but there is still that potential laying all over the place. If nothing is deemed 'sacred', are we better off?

TheSisb2··on Surviving Anxiety
From what I've heard "vaporizing" allows you better control consumption without any (minimal) smoke. Probably the safest and healthiest method to consume a desired amount.

TheSisb2··on Freedom from Food
In none of those statements do I read them saying you should replace all food with Soylent. The first quote is simply setting the tone for a future where that could be a possibility. I don't doubt this would help people with acid reflux and other similar symptoms. Soylent has freed me from shopping trips and expensive lunches. Soylent does take years to spoil.

I really don't know what you're getting at. This is much better than beer commercials promoting that your best times involved beer.

TheSisb2··on Freedom from Food
Nothing else we regularly eat is an any-meal replacement. They're all imbalanced. So if Soylent wants to be able to replace any meal it should be balanced enough to replace them all. That's what I meant.
TheSisb2··on Freedom from Food
I've received my shipment of Soylent. I read many negative and positive reviews. I've been on it for three weeks now and am loving it so far. In fact, I find myself craving it sometimes. It hasn't replace my meals completely, but as someone who has been skipping breakfast for most of my life I now get the nutrition I need in the mornings and my life has considerably improved as a consequence.

The concept of Soylent is wonderful. No one is saying it should completely replace all meals, but it should be able to do so, otherwise it wouldn't work as a single meal either. The joy of cooking still exists, you choose whether you want a quick meal or a longer one. I would still never turn down a well cooked meal for Soylent, but I'm happy to know I have some in my cupboard for when I need it.
