"So when you hear the news that you must work until you die, you can become relieved and overjoyed that you are free from the slavery of saving money to procure an illusory freedom. Furthermore, it is doing nothing that hastens death. Many who have already retired find themselves bored and detached from life if they are not doing something that is meaningful."
I think this speaks for itself without need to comment.
I'm Polish, longest text we've ever read at English class was one page.
At university, by the way.
I get people who are against porn. I see their arguments, where they are coming from. But at the same time, it seems that for so many of them, my first paragraph applies.
I had zero elective classes up through my entire pre-uni education. At my uni, I had one or two elective classes - at fifth and sixth semester, and that's all.
It is an aspect of American education I do like a lot.
(here we choose our profile, which assigns us to extended classes - i.e, Maths/English/Physics, Maths/Biology/Chemistry, Polish/Geography/History and so on, but then we don't get to choose anything after.)
For me in Poland, my high-school education was at liceum, i.e focus on academic subjects.
There are vocational schools, but they're known to be awful quality and you don't go there if you want to earn trade, but if you're an awful student. And if you aren't awful student, then you'll most likely end up as one - as your peers will most likely be :(
There are also "technikum" which is a mix of these two, but it's not for trade per se, and statistically chances you'll pass your end of school exams are smaller.
It'd suck a bit should you be automated out of the thing you've spend a few years studying if you're a fresh grad, not to speak of anyone with more experience. While I guess one shouldn't be complaining, no work bring shame, going back to cashier, or warehouse worked would be a bit of a letdown.
Average devs will be no longer needed as all they can do a senior will be able to do in the same time with LLM.
I think we'll go back to the system as in the Mythical Man-Month - one lead developer, one below them to do less important tasks, and a few domain experts not related to programming. Ironically I think good front-end developers may remain useful as UI/UX experts.
This could be a factor here too. To try to mend, or keep America in faith, according how you look at things.
I'm wondering one thing - how will this affect Catholics in countries like Russia or China. I imagine their leadership will not like this at all, China especially. I know, not many of people there are Catholic, but still.
Can't really prepare for that unless you switch to a different career... Ideally, with manual labor. As automation might be still too expensive :P
And every community had their own...
WH 3 basically solved this issue by making MP battles be capture the points style - genuinely, it freed us from having to make house rules.
I never saw anything like that happen.
Also the point about default LLM settings not doing that is a good point.
Spearmen purpose was to buy you time and for other units to tire out, before you'd bring in your swords :D
> I didn’t realize how much that could throw things off until I saw an example where the object started moving in a strange way when it hit that point.
Would feel off, because why change the person? And even if it's intented, then I'd say it's not formal to do in an assignement.
Unfortunately, it's true - that's how it will be seen. :(
Trust me so much, some of the stuff I learned there was actively harmful. Half of subjects were random fillers, and so on.
I envy Americans so much with that, their CS education seems to be top notch.
Robię Ci łaskę vs robię ci laskę is a very big difference.
