I wonder why they do not make more memory channels to get more performance out of the iGPU. 3 or 4 channels would be better than two. They could even allow segregation of traffic or memory QoS.
In rural upstate New York, prime takes a week for almost anything. Walmart+ is 2 days, and even things like Best Buy are faster. Prime delivery outside of NYC is not very good in my (somewhat limited) experience.
Even that seems excessive. How about 5%? Or not allowing the funds from citations to be used for municipal benefit at all? Have them go to a victim compensation program, or a halfway house, or medical welfare, or children's food, or something. Just saying the incentives are wrong here.
As a user of all three chips vis Pixels 6, 7 and 8 Pro as well as this current Pixel Tablet, I do not get it. These devices work fine for me. I have also had Samsung and OnePlus devices. I have never had performance problems. I switched from Samsung to Pixel due to the messy software situation- there were two or more apps for every purpose and which to use was incomprehensible to me, and I am not too dumb.
Granted I am not a heavy user of things that might need extreme capabilities. I do not play complex games or do media creation.
Availability of the new unleaded fuel is extremely limited. It is also very expensive. I also believe there may be a fee involved per airplane to use it (one time for an STC). The fee I heard is nominal $250.
I have never flown to an airport with it yet. i have probably landed in over a dozen different airports in the last few months with a leaded gas engined plane.
A knowledgable friend recently told me the wafer price is, you get what you get. This was in reference to a recent Apple story that TSMC was giving Apple a discount for bad dies, or something like that, on the 3nm node. I have no references.
I installed it to see. I don't want something on the "side" - I want the tab organization to be on the top where the tabs ordinarily live anyway. That's what the Chrome tab groups does well. I can just visually see which tabs are grouped together, and collapse all of them.
Too many sites have useless titles, or URLs that if you go back to you don't get to the same state you had when you closed the window. So, I find that history is for the most part useless. Sometimes it works - but not reliably.
The thing that I really like in Chrome (which I use for work) is Tab Groups. There is nothing like it for Firefox. Even the "Simple Tab Groups" extension, which is well liked, cannot do the simple "grouping" of tabs in a larger window - it simply hides all the tabs that are not in current use (which defeats the purpose of tab groups, I can just use windows for that). Another thing that Chrome has is the ability to name individual windows for easy Alt-Tabbing. Shame that Firefox doesn't have these things (that I know of).
Any game that includes microtransactions for any purpose than cosmetics is like this. That is virtually all of the mobile games. I play games you buy once and that is it. No consumables, etc. It is a scam and should be made illegal.
This happens naturally with age, usually starting sometime between age 45-50, as your eyes shift from variable focus to fixed focus (at distance). Google presbyopia.
Exactly this! Virtually all my code is first written in plain language pseudo code in comments before being written. Even in languages I am fluent in. This way anyone can understand what my code is doing when reading it too.
I drive (raced in the past) and fly. I also occasionally play flight sims and racing games with some appropriate accessories.
I am terrible at the sims. I am literally seconds faster in a real car (on a 62 second circuit) than the sim, due to all the additional sensory input in reality. I can barely land a simulated plane but have not messed up a landing since training over three decades ago.
So, yes, it is astonishing how much all our senses go into driving, beyond sight.
Stockholders have the power to stop enshittification. They can vote in a new board and get new executives who wont do it. But of course that ... almost never happens. Why? Question left as an exercise.
The article has a humorous history of graphics APIs that I very much enjoyed. I did the the Vulkan tutorial for kicks one month on Windows (with an nVidia GPU) and it was no joke, super fiddly to do things in. I look forward to trying WebGL in anything that isn't JavaScript (some language that compiles to WebASM or transpiles, I guess).
They are helped by non-standard extensions to the basic ARM architecture of their CPUs (i.e., Apple proprietary extensions), such as harmonizing the memory models of x64 and ARM.
i have literally over 5,000 passwords going back almost 30 years in a dozen vaults in 1P. How easy was it to migrate to Bitwarden? Any issues with Windows, Android, Linux, i(Pad)OS with the move? thanks!
