This is a reddit thread where OP claims to have gotten instructions from Apple Support to remove Apple Intelligence.

Shuddown··on Hands-On with Googlebooks
> The applications, however, all come from the Android side of things. Google provides apps through the Play Store. Google is counting on a mix of the Play Store and web apps, meaning you won't be downloading any executables to use on a Googlebook from the web.

This, really strikes me as shortsighted. Not being able to download executables at ALL makes it feel like a bigger Android tablet, not a fully-featured desktop OS.

Shuddown··on Every novel is boring until it isn't
One collary I'd add to this is that the opposite is also true. There have been plenty of times that I've trudged through the beginning of a novel, only to reach an "anti-volta" and realize that it isn't for me. It can incredibly frustrating and make the slog feel like a huge waste of time, but I still keep trying books. Maybe I'm just chasing the highs I felt when I first read the novels that got me into reading.
Shuddown··on Since it was stripped of planetary status, Pluto’s defenders have been fighting
Could someone explain what the IAU means by "clearing its orbit". For example, could we consider the Earth having not "cleared its orbit" because of the Moon? The Sun attracts the Moon more strongly that Earth does, so does that mean that the Earth doesn't fit the criteria? Or does the IAU have some sort exception for moons which they've defined some place else? I'd really appreciate if someone with more knowledge could explain.
Shuddown··on Learning more about Claude's mathematical capabilities
> Throughout this process, Jarred's input was mostly limited to sending Claude messages of encouragement (mostly variants of “keep going” or “believe in yourself”). This seems to have helped Claude overcome some initial skepticism that it could make meaningful progress.

We went from AI being human sycophants to humans becoming AI sycophants.

Shuddown··on Googlebook
With Google handing this off to OEMs, I really don't know how it'll hold up compared to a Pixelbook. I can't remember the last time I got an HP or Acer laptop that didn't use e-waste tier parts. I just hope it's worth the price.
Shuddown··on The unbearable frustration of figuring out APIs
I must be missing something here. Why would anyone want to use Apple's god awful translation models? Is it perhaps better at translating individual words? Anytime I've used it for article translation it has been unequivocally terrible.
Shuddown··on Children with cancer scammed out of millions fundraised for their treatment
This has to be one of the most vile scams I've ever seen. Hopefully with awareness will come justice.
Shuddown··on Cloudflare Global Network experiencing issues
Wanted to check if it was DNS again but https://isitdns.com/ is also down…
Shuddown··on Tell HN: Azure outage
Github Codespaces (for the 5 people that use them) are also still down.
Shuddown··on Tell HN: Azure outage
Pretty much every single Microsoft domain I've tried to access loads for a looooong time before giving me some bare html. I wonder if someone can explain why that's happening.
