Shuang1··on A/I shuts down
Everyone who disagrees with me is a bot.
Shuang1··on The internet is kind of a predatory cesspit now
I actually think the opposite, the hatred on the internet seems artificial to me.

In the current day when AI is so prevalent, it always makes me wonder how many posts are made by agents instructed to maximize engagement by making people angry.

Shuang1··on U.S. sanctions against the A/I Collective
Are you implying that PA is a military organization that is at war with the UK? I don't think you actually have thought through the implications of that. If this were the case, they would be considered legitimate military targets who can be killed.

That would be a lot worse for them than sanctions.

Shuang1··on U.S. sanctions against the A/I Collective
There's a lot of talking around this in the comment section for some reason: they allegedly provide infrastructure for recognized terrorist organizations such as Hamas and Palestine Action (the group that attacked UK air force bases).
Shuang1··on Every Fucking Website (2020)
If properly following a law is malicious, then it's a bad law.

There's a reason you don't hear about people "maliciously complying" with HIPAA or PCI laws. Because that's just called compliance.

No excuses for poorly done EU regulations.

Shuang1··on I'm So Tired of Ads
I use an adblocker and I have for a while now. Every so often I hear a moral argument about why adblockers are bad (ads support free internet, etc) but to be completely honest, I simply don't care anymore. Advertising is in such a malicious state that yes, I'm going to put my own experience quality over whatever collective good there is in watching ads.
Shuang1··on He Lost It at the Movies
I think it's pretty obvious that we refer to more recent times like this, e.g. 2000s, 2010s, 2020s.
Shuang1··on Your compliance obligations under the UK’s Online Safety Bill
It's not really weird. We have rights guaranteed to us in the United States that no other country has, so it makes sense we would not extradite.
Shuang1··on Your compliance obligations under the UK’s Online Safety Bill
As an American who has no desire to visit the UK, is there any particular reason I need to care? The article says it would affect me but they don't have any jurisdiction over me.
Shuang1··on OOP Considered Harmful
His argument seems to revolve around using badly written fake code to say that OOP is bad. The software equivalent of a strawman argument.
Shuang1··on Report: 90% of nurses considering leaving the profession in the next year
That case goes far beyond med error and I don't understand why people keep bringing it up as an example.

She pulled the wrong med, and then injected it and walked out of the room rather than observing for effects. Also the med she pulled had warnings on all sides of the bottle and on the top saying very clearly that it's fatal to administer without ventilation. This went beyond a mistake to negligence.

Shuang1··on We must return to an economy fueled by innovation, rather than disruption
Amazon was not the first in e-commerce and they "didn't pay taxes" because they reinvested the money rather than taking it as dividends. Amazon won because of their efficiency and customer service. Even today, FedEx usually takes weeks to deliver while Amazon has same day or two day delivery.
Shuang1··on Israel passes law denying naturalization to Palestinian spouses
Sure I'll try

China bans non-Chinese people from becoming citizens

Doesn't feel all that bad to me, considering this is the way it already works and I had no interest in becoming a citizen there.

Shuang1··on Los Angeles is spending up to $837k to house a single homeless person
Republicans caused all the problems in a city that they haven't controlled since 2001, in a state they haven't controlled since 1987? That really is incredible! I wonder how they accomplished that.
Shuang1··on Worker pay isn’t keeping up with inflation
Why are you bringing up "food insecurity" rather than deaths by starvation which is an objective measure of food shortness, and what the person you replied to is talking about?

How many people starve to death in the United States?

Shuang1··on Code to flood Kellogg with bogus job applications after strikers sacked
This is a bad idea, it's probably illegal to do this kind of thing.
Shuang1··on Facebook's new name ridiculed by Hebrew speakers
It's an American company and Meta is an English term so I don't see how that's relevant to anything. I hate Facebook just as much as anyone else but this story is a nothing burger.
