SeriousM··on LinkedIn Larpmaxxing
LinkedIn is like "playing" soggy biscuit together, yet you are the biscuit.
SeriousM··on A brief history of the Bloomberg terminal
I wonder how "make it Bloomberg terminal" would change the ui outcome from ai...
SeriousM··on Sonnet 5.5
Next will be haiku 5.5, surpassing opus 4.8
SeriousM··on Jev in 25 Lines of Python
Repitation always helped make your point stronger. Repitation always helped make your point stronger.
SeriousM··on First Shader from Zero in Godot 4
And please don't forget the fools play to have this light "pinkish" theme you can only change when buying it. I couldn't stand the light theme and so I left unity for good.
SeriousM··on Ray Ozzie and the Optimism of Being Early
Yes, horrible experience..
SeriousM··on Apple Reference Image: A New Approach for Verified Photography
As sexy as apple can be: the blog post just shows how unsexy security is for apple.
SeriousM··on Tor VPN Beta: What we've learned building our own VPN for Android from scratch
"Easy to use" and "privacy" are two terms that rarely go hand in hand, if you are serious about it. Otherwise the free Firefox VPN will do it as well.
SeriousM··on Cloud in a Bottle: making self-hosting accessible to everyone
What's wrong with coolify? Their ecosystem help start a service with pretty much zero issues. And they also show that maintaining a large amount of click-n-deploy services can't keep up with the releases of all of them. They hit the sweet spot of having everything in a second and maintaining it with ease over time.

SeriousM··on Show HN: Claude and ChatGPT need a datacenter. This runs on my phone
The model is just the executing part. You can always give them tools via the harness to do various things.
SeriousM··on Show HN: FeatureFlags.app – Feature Management for .NET
There are tons of solutions to this problem, including from Microsoft/dotnet itself. Why should I ever pay 10$ per month for the service?
SeriousM··on Tim Curry has died
Oh my... The clown played an important role in my command & conquer childhood!

Thanks for the reminder!

SeriousM··on How much of HN is AI?
Thank you so much for this! Generally I like to read AI news, yet it's important to know what else is out there! I hope that ycombinator is implementing this filter by themselves, one day.
SeriousM··on Why aren't smart people happier? (2022)
Bering "dumb" for a day just to know if I could be happier... I feel you.

My way to her happier was too stop following global news, even regional news. People around me well tell me the important things anyway. Don't use the so called "social media"!

With so much free energy and attention, I now care about the areas that I can positively influence: me, close family, neighbors, friends, work, remote family.

That is much more rewarding and makes me happy!

Let's see how long it takes until HauHauCS is providing it for non apple users.
SeriousM··on Incident with Github.com
That unicorn was already served in the RubyOnRails days!
SeriousM··on Claude users are mad that Anthropic's new watermarks will catch them using it
So we finally tackle the issue of ai-text pollution and probably found a way to clean up the internet (from now on), yet people start complaining that "their" output is marked as spam.

Well, the solution is quite easy: start thinking on your own again and write the lines yourself.

I welcome this watermarking. Finally it's an easy detectable signal that someone just generated some request/answer to waste my time by forcing me thinking for the other person too. Now that time is over.

(It never was hard to spot this type of texts but now there is evidence)

SeriousM··on LinkedIn Feed Blocker
LinkedIn, especially LinkedIn, is like everyone is playing soggy biscuit.

And you are the biscuit.

SeriousM··on "Uncensored" open LLMs are measurably more optimistic than their base models
Without his effort to bring it into the english language in the best way he was able to, you wouldn't be able to criticize his effort in the first place.

I don't like the AI slang as you do, yet it enables us to communicate with the whole world without knowing the target language by heart.

A little ai disclaimer at the beginning would have aid in this situation, tho.

SeriousM··on Sand battery: Finland's answer to a renewable energy headache
Once I asked the cold-battery question as well and I got a very smart answer: there is no "colder", there is just less warmer.
SeriousM··on Kill The Cookie Banner
It's a "Dick over".
SeriousM··on Reframing smart glasses as 'pervert glasses'
Reminds me that the smartphone cameras were supposed to always make a 'click' sound while taking a photo. Nowadays Snapchat users take silently photos all the time, not only from themselves but from other "funny" people too.

In contrast, glasses are always directed to the others and therefore hard to distinguish between normal looking and recording.

SeriousM··on Kimi K2.7 Code is generally available in GitHub Copilot
Who really cares? The model multipliers and the artificial currency were the final nail in the Github Copilot coffin.
SeriousM··on GLM 5.2 beats Claude in our benchmarks
pi is great for learning, oh-my-pi has all the nice things included that I've built fory pi previously.
SeriousM··on I used Claude Code to get a second opinion on my MRI
And say it's true because the AI said so.
SeriousM··on Anthropic says Alibaba used 25k accounts to mine Claude
> Anthropic wants firms like Alibaba punished

Do they care what we want? Im happy that China is copying the models and make them available for everyone, with 1/10 of it's price.

SeriousM··on GPT-5.5 hallucinates 3x more than MIT-licensed GLM-5.2
There is no concept of "knowledge" in LLM as it is on Wikipedia.

The question-tokens define the answer-tokens. That's it. The art relies in clustering the relevant weights together.

SeriousM··on Hyundai buys Boston Dynamics
At least a third arm would be helpful. I can't count how many times I've wished for a third arm!
