SeriousM··on Wine 11 rewrites how Linux runs Windows games at kernel with massive speed gains
Does it finally support visual studio?
SeriousM··on How I'm Productive with Claude Code
> Fast rebuilds and automated previews made another friction visible: I could only comfortably work on one thing at a time.

Oh really? I enjoy doing one thing at the time, with focus.

AI, as you're using it OP, isn't make you faster, it is making you work more for the same amount of money. You burn yourself for no reason.

SeriousM··on How to attract AI bots to your open source project
It implies that you really need serious help attention!
SeriousM··on Warranty Void If Regenerated
This is such a good written fiction story. Well done. And the best part: I can see myself as Tom.
SeriousM··on Kagi Translate now supports LinkedIn Speak as an output language
And this is your translation:

Every time I log onto LinkedIn, it’s a powerful reminder of the energy and passion required to thrive in today’s ecosystem. As a seasoned professional, I’ve reached a point where I’m pivoting away from traditional corporate structures to focus on what truly matters: the craft of software and the people behind it.

I’m thrilled to be entering a new chapter where I can prioritize authentic collaboration over "career" optics. It’s all about the joy of the build and the impact we make together. Grateful for the journey and excited for what’s next! #WorkLifeBalance #SoftwareEngineering #AuthenticLeadership #NewBeginnings

SeriousM··on Show HN: Free audiobooks with synchronized text for language learning
Oh yes, please add spanish (peru)!
SeriousM··on Show HN: Poppy – A simple app to stay intentional with relationships
I really appreciate this work. Yes, it's AI language and it seems it's not polished to run on every device -yet.

And it does one thing really good: be there. Sounds silly, I know, but an app that tries to make the world better AT NO COST is so much more than "well, I could vibe code that myself".

Thanks fellow creator of this app. Thanks for believing that this app may have an impact on the important part of our life: re/connecting people.

SeriousM··on How to talk to anyone and why you should
First I was happy to see someone from Vienna but then I noticed hat you're a bot. HN isn't the same anymore...
SeriousM··on How do I cancel my ChatGPT subscription?
Department of War...
SeriousM··on LM Link: Use local models on remote devices, powered by Tailscale
Wow, that's huge! I'll try that at home.
SeriousM··on Tech companies shouldn't be bullied into doing surveillance
The problem is not that tech companies can be forced to do bad, it is that government entities are able to do so.

This is quite the same discussion like players shouldn't cheat, yet it's not the fault of the game but the player that is behaving wrong.

So search the responsibilities on the acting side.

SeriousM··on Trunk Based Development
Thats my situation. We're 5 devs for 5 years on a monorepo with about 50 services and worked on master without problems. Just from time to time a merge conflict. The only difficulty is to manage Release branch(es) with hotfixes. Discipline, Thinking and Working together, that's the magic source.
SeriousM··on Show HN: Gigacode – Use OpenCode's UI with Claude Code/Codex/Amp
What's the benefit of using opencode ui vs vscode with agents?
SeriousM··on Jeffrey Epstein Interview [video]
Same goes for Trump, isn't it? I mean he has a very special way of talking.
SeriousM··on The Missing Layer
... and understand. Whenever I vibe code something and there is an issue with it, I either have to step in myself and have to learn what was generated or hand it back to the ai to fix it.

The generation of these meta documents will also be fixed by ai, not humans.

SeriousM··on Please stop using OpenClaw, formerly known as Moltbot
The comments of the article just identify how much unaware the people are.

> Put it behind a tunnel, vpn etc and most of issues suddenly becomes no issue. I use wireguard to access openclaw. So there is no open port online.

Don't they realise that openclaw is not just insecure to operate in a DMZ jet it also just executes whatever text it finds.

The future is bright, my friends.

SeriousM··on Sealos – AI Native Cloud Cloud Operating System
It looks interesting but the development seems to crease. Last release 2025 and the issues are stalling. No good signs.
SeriousM··on Plasma Effect (2016)
Plasma-Pong was a great game
SeriousM··on Many people have no mental imagery. What's going on in their brains?
Interesting to hear that someone also has sdam (I didn't know the term before). For me it's like knowing about major events but everything older than 3 years is just blurred. Imagine a beach-leveling-net behind a car that just evens out the beach... also I have troubles put events in an chronological order. The more you know...
SeriousM··on Glossopetrae: Procedural Xenolinguistic Engine for Al
Disclaimer: that's not my project.

site:

https://elder-plinius.github.io/GLOSSOP ETRAE/

So what does Glossopetrae do?

Generates complete, internally-consistent constructed languages procedurally with a single-click

Outputs "SKILLSTONE" documents: Al-friendly compact language specs (-8k tokens) that agents can learn in-context

Supports dead language revival (Latin, Sanskrit, Old Norse, Proto-Indo-European...)

Includes special attributes for token efficiency, stealth communication, and more

Spreadable seeds: same seed = same language, every time

And for those who look closely... there may be special ways to hide messages in plain sight.

Octopi es an excellent replcement. Thnaks for your recommendation.
SeriousM··on Ask HN: Share your personal website

I'm a software architect with 23 years of professional experience, mainly in C#/.NET environments, and I currently lead a development team. Over the years, my focus has shifted from purely technical excellence to the human side of software development: communication, decision-making, responsibility, and sustainable performance. In parallel to my tech career, I trained as a licensed psychological counsellor and supervisor in Austria, Vienna. Today, I work with individuals and teams on topics like leadership, mental load, clarity in roles, burnout prevention, and turning reflection into action, especially in complex, high-responsibility environments such as software teams. My work bridges structured engineering thinking with psychological depth and practical implementation.

SeriousM··on I dumped Windows 11 for Linux, and you should too
It's the evergreen of ios vs android. Want to have something that "just works" you'll get exactly that. You want freedom of choice, here you go with all the freedom you can get.

If you want someone that tailors the experience, you'll have to pay with money and freedom.

SeriousM··on New information extracted from Snowden PDFs through metadata version analysis
To put it reaaaaaly simple, a PDF is like a notion document (blocks and bricks) with a git-like object graph?
SeriousM··on 2026 will be my year of the Linux desktop
Yes, "Everything" is the tool to use, but to be honest, why isn't MS getting the same speed?

I'm a SE for 25 years now, sticking with C#. Microsoft always did great tech platforms and left the missing 20% to the developers. Look at the .net framework (the old one), microsoft windows until win11, office until 2025, and even Excel that can't open csv files because the delimeter is a region setting.

On one side I hated this attitude, on the other side it allowed and enabled developers to get their own business running - see jetbrains resharper functionality - visual studio up until 2024 was a mess without it...

SeriousM··on All my senses are being tortured simultaneously
I'm not surprised at all. You can tell very quickly how much a customer is worth after he has paid. And airlines are a supreme example: starting right after the booking you just get barely information about the flight. On the airport you can get your bags yourself into the system, wait yourself in the line for security checks. After that you're allowed to buy the most expensive aqua because now you're in the middle of the water monopol. You wait for boarding without any comfort, stuff yourself into a small seat any hope you will take off. During the flight you get harassed by shopping offers and crying babies. You land, wait to get off the plane, walk yourself though the last checkpoint of no return, wait yourself for your bags you get yourself into the system in the first place and then your in either on a very hot or super cold street waiting for an expensive taxi or train. You count nothing after paying the ticket.
SeriousM··on Ask HN: Those making $500/month on side projects in 2025 – Show and tell
Is canine for kubernetes as coolify is for docker? Lovely!
SeriousM··on Tell HN: AI coding is sexy, but accounting is the real low-hanging target
Nust yesterday I built a reconciliation helper for my budget. Claud Sonnet 4.5 is a beast. It got my iterative instructions and built a tool that pinpoints me the issues. Fast, beautiful, complete.

That's what LLMs are for. TOOL BUILDERS

SeriousM··on Ask HN: What Are You Working On? (December 2025)
What a wonderful and simple style. The games remind me on the games from linkedin, just without the dark pattern around it :)
