I’m a person who wants to learn everything there is to know. As for you, there’s nothing else you need to know about me.

Sath52··on An Easy Start to Philosophy
For anyone wanting to look into philosophy, this website, and specifically this article, is simpler to understand than some other sources.

Maybe you’ll start to have thoughts of your own, and develop your own philosophical ideas.

I’d also recommend “The Metaphysics of Nothing”

Sath52··on Russia Lights Rockets with an Oversized Wooden Match (2016)
That’s actually amazing.

Who else had heard of it before this article?

Sath52··on Show HN: Voyager 1 could've lasted MUCH longer
Correct…

But, I’d truly love for the thing to stay in contact for the first few thousand.

Wouldn’t you?

Sath52··on Show HN: Voyager 1 could've lasted MUCH longer
I never said it was PLAUSIBLE back then,

Just, possible.

Sath52··on Show HN: Voyager 1 could've lasted MUCH longer
We had already built it.

I’m not relying on the radiation to power it.

But rather, it’s own decay process.

That’s what they used.

The slower it decays, the more you’d need,

But the longer it decays, the longer it’s powered.

Which is why plutonium seemed so perfect.

But, we simply would’ve needed a little more time,

And it’d have been done,

With radium.

Sath52··on Germany pledges to phase out fossil fuels for first time with target of 2045
I’ve always loved Germany, and this is a massive step in the right direction.

I really hope that other countries [cough, America, cough] follow suit.

We’re too late to skip the Climate Clock, but it’s not unsalvageable!

Sath52··on Why Human Informants Still Matter in the Age of AI Surveillance
A.I. is getting to the point where we cannot live without it,

We’ll lose the ability to function as a society on our own,

Such as A.I. surveillance technologies,

They are the future, unfortunately,

Also very unfortunately, they’re just the start,

Humans tend to be lazy and creepy,

Both of which are enabled by A.I. surveillance,

These little “Flock Cameras” are merely the start.

Sath52··on I Built AI Clones of My Coworkers. Things Got Weird
Honestly, what was expected?

An A.I. cult tried, and still tries, to do the same,

And it still does strange things, and doesn’t work fully.

Now, I acknowledge that these are different tasks, but the premise is similar,

And failing.

Humans are humans, A.I. is not.

Although, it could very well develop into a new “Mentally Humanoid” species.

Sath52··on After multiple deaths and injuries, NHTSA is investigating comma.ai
A.I. never should’ve been used for mapping.

It may be cheaper and faster, but it makes more mistakes than a satellite and humans ever would.

For example: A human would (Hopefully) never see a river, and think “ROAD’, but rather, mark only roads as roads.

A.I. is still basically being “Globally Beta Tested” and shouldn’t be used to replace humans in any way other than basic research and simple tasks, NOT mapping our planet.

Sath52··on German court rules Meta liable for scam ads on Facebook and Instagram
Why only Germany?

I feel that all countries should be doing something similar.

Sath52··on Astra broke a yet unsolved German Army Enigma message from 1941
Now, I’m not a fan of this.

Not at all.

A.I. shouldn’t be the one to complete these things,

Especially not something like this, because we would’ve done it on our own eventually.

Another example of this is A.I. solving math problems with rewards attached,

It strips away the opportunity from someone who could’ve done it on their own,

Instead, A.I. did it before anyone had the right idea.

I encourage all of you to give simple pushback such as this.

Sath52··on I got tired of taking screenshots and explaining everything to AI agents
That’s awesome.

And incredibly helpful to the right people.

You have a wonderful idea, and made it reality.

Good job!

We need more innovative people like you in the world.

Sath52··on Windows XP Activation Code Fckgw-RHQQ2-Yxrkt-8TG6W-2B7Q8
Man, those were good times.

I’m really glad we don’t need things like it anymore.

The hack/leak, I mean. We still need the codes, probably.

Sath52··on US judge denies OpenAI bid to review X Corp's settlement with Apple
What exactly did OpenAI expect?

Not everyone is open to letting an A.I. review private things.

It makes mistakes hourly, or likely every minute it’s being used.

I understand that they’d likely use a better, more professionally model, but it’s nowhere near perfect.

A human can analyze better than any A.I. at the moment, and it needs to stay that way.

Sath52··on New cat species identified for the first time in a century
More and more things like this will be happening,

Especially now that we can physically view the genome.

Say… Fifty years ago, we might have just called it a deformed Leopard, and moved on with our lives.

Hell, maybe we already did, and this was just the first time someone connected the dots.

Sath52··on Benchmarking Local LLM Servers: Llama.cpp, Llamafile, LM Studio, and Ollama
Llama.
Sath52··on Disarming the Slop Cannon (Ironically, with AI)
I doubt the flow of pure braindead content will never stop.

But, I’m open to absolutely anything to slow it, even a little bit.

Sath52··on Every 21 minutes: my self-healing monitor took my business line down for 2 days
Every 21 minutes, it goes down for two days…

I’m pretty sure that’s not how math works.

Sath52··on Mice with human brain cells offer a tool to study disease
That’s-

That’s great, actually.

Sath52··on Banana Mode
Why???
Sath52··on Show HN: TabHop I just wanted Command+Shift+Up/Down to switch tabs
Why not command+shift+left/right

???

Sath52··on How BBC Operations dealt with 9/11
The show must go on. Honestly, the attacks should’ve been a minor annoyance for the rest of the world. I believed an example of this is shown here.
Sath52··on Scientists find a churning decagon over Saturn's South Pole
It’s not supposed to last very long. We’re lucky to have seen it. Unlike the hexagon at the North Pole, This storm is more unstable. It’s breathtaking to see though.
Sath52··on Title
Interesting.
Sath52··on Show HN: I solved a 12yr math problem using AI (formalized; awaiting review) [pdf]
I really wish you hadn’t.
Sath52··on Public Schools' Eye of Sauron
As am I.

Are you?

Sath52··on Leaving Proton Mail
