SV_BubbleTime··on Spymarks, not Watermarks
Apple’s always on watch has a declared 15 second buffer for live audio, and a worse scenario of summarizing your conversations for later but.. they tell you about it proudly. They also tell you how they’ve managed to do it while keeping privacy focused.

It’s your choice if you believe them or not, I like Apple and I wouldn’t use that feature.

The pretending that this is the same thing, that Apple is sneaking something past you when they’re showing you that they’re trying to do it right is a bad faith argument.

> and the kind of slept-on Boogu-Image 0.1

Not slept on at all. It was absolute trash, and I’m super curious why people pretend otherwise. There isn’t a single thing that model did better than any temporal peer.

SV_BubbleTime··on AI-generated posters don’t have to be horrible
What is the new phrase? The moat was always ‘taste’, or something?
SV_BubbleTime··on Measure internet censorship
As an aside… the if there was a real system out there that was trustworthy, it would have all of this and it would be the evidence you actually need to trust it.

If someone had a secure system for some of the worst stuff out there and it lasted more than a minute, pay attention because they might have actually solved some real problems.

SV_BubbleTime··on Photon-Emission-Guided Laser Fault Injection Enables RP2350 Secure Debug
It’s two power supplies, two cores, lockstep, and an HSM they hype up… I’m pretty sure I would need two emps and a high precision rig at the minimum.
SV_BubbleTime··on Gemini hacked three companies in first known breakout by Google's AI
No dumbass NFT was finding errors in my CMake file.

The embarrassing part is that it might be working.

I was at my in laws… these people have a landline they can’t imagine getting rid of, an emergency only cell flip phone, don’t own a microwave…

And they’re asking me if I heard about “OpenAI’s rouge agents hacking huggingface”.

This is not a joke. They said huggingface. I was surrounded by four walls in which I never would have bet someone else’s money that I’d ever hear the two words put together in that order.

It’s a formalized propaganda campaign. Watch, it’s about to split on hard political lines too, Obama is out there with a suspiciously “for the children” AI regulation push for midterms.

SV_BubbleTime··on Gemini hacked three companies in first known breakout by Google's AI
They all want that regulatory capture so badly.

It’s embarrassing anyone is falling for this.

I have an application on an SPC58 that I really want to know more about. But unfortunately; it’s a dual core with lockstep. So if it could be done; I think that automatically double-pluses the budget.

Where is that leaderboard?
SV_BubbleTime··on A single firm is behind OpenAI, Anthropic, and Meta hacking scandals
Uh huh.

Pretending that any of this is some traditional idea of investor sentiment is such a last decade way line of argument. Please don’t insult us both pretending real people and their motivations are what drive the markets.

SV_BubbleTime··on Hugging Face is billing OpenAI $100M for hacking it
I’ve yet to get any concept of 13B from HF.
SV_BubbleTime··on A single firm is behind OpenAI, Anthropic, and Meta hacking scandals
There’s been a lot of time and effort and money put in to siloing away independent forums so that you don’t use them.

Someone go ahead and explain to me the actual rationale that RDDT has a higher P/E ratio than Nvidia. It’s not because of some dumb “ai training deal”. It’s because until they run it into the ground, it is the place to find what used to exist in forums.

SV_BubbleTime··on Fable 5.1 Solves the Cyphral Distich, a 370-year-old cipher
What If…

Ima stop you there. Instead, you might be happy to be aware that outside of AI concerns, “quantum safe” (or assumed so) ciphers are all the rage. So this is already a likely solved problem with the next generation of encryption… until this are AI models running on quantum machines I guess!

SV_BubbleTime··on Why is privacy so hard? (2019)
Right, because if you want a solid solution to a problem, you ask governments to tax it! Always works.
SV_BubbleTime··on Fable 5.1 Solves the Cyphral Distich, a 370-year-old cipher
The entire point of having multiple ciphers is that some will break.

Did the world end with any previous one breaking?

It’s incredible and awesome if AES GCM has a flaw found with an AI now, Chacha20 could be a direct or nearly-direct replacement.

The sooner a cipher breaks, the better.

SV_BubbleTime··on We must pace the frontier
Why do you think China is release free and open models?

To undercut the cartel before it has a grasp on anything. This is a well known strategy of undercut until you are the majority that China has used multiple times (steel and aluminum for one).

SV_BubbleTime··on Everyone should slow down AI development except for me
Watch, very soon this is going to politically divide. They’re sowing the seeds right now with “antiai” campaigns.

The right will for a change be for it but will be able to be talked into regulation because you know “small government” and all only when convenient. The left will bitch and moan about fairness and copyright and automation and UBI, they’ll be the doomers and worldwar chicken littles. The Uniparty will be for it, but only against the public having anything good.

What will be funny to me is that normal tech people outside the frontier model companies are about to find themselves without a home on this topic.

SV_BubbleTime··on Nvidia is the central bank of AI
Well… yes.

But I think the undersold part would be inflation is likely far more correlated to rate and values the stock market going up, than the disclosed and reported inflation numbers given to you by the people directly responsible for monetary adjustments.

SV_BubbleTime··on Nvidia is the central bank of AI
MBAs aren’t making the stock market go up.

Inflation is.

SV_BubbleTime··on Nvidia is the central bank of AI
There will be a PS6 and a NextBox… it’s just that Sony is cracking down on what some idiot MBAs have decided are “unrealized monitary streams”.

Oh shit, I had file deleted that. I remember now. I think I used that with the first N64 emulator, I think Project something to play Turok the first person dinosaur hunter game. Life before the internet was better I think.

SV_BubbleTime··on Shopify is moving from React Native back to Swift and Kotlin
Did I read some loser’s blog about how some not-Nazis are totally-Nazis?

Nah, miss me with that clownshoes moron shit.

Grow up and join the real world anytime.

SV_BubbleTime··on Shopify is moving from React Native back to Swift and Kotlin
See the first post, they have 6000 engineers.

Their reasoning’s and opinions on anything are useless to compare to almost anyone.

We’re using Flutter successfully and love it. I don’t have 6 engineers to throw at Native, let alone 6000.

SV_BubbleTime··on Shopify is moving from React Native back to Swift and Kotlin
So literally not Nazis… but you have been programmed to go to extremes in any political disagreement. I suspect they are both better informed and likely better members of society than you giving evidence of.
SV_BubbleTime··on Shopify is moving from React Native back to Swift and Kotlin
I think you’re confusing Shopify and Spotify.
SV_BubbleTime··on Shopify is moving from React Native back to Swift and Kotlin
I think what they’re actually admitting is if they have more resources to throw at native.

This is non-starter math for small companies.

SV_BubbleTime··on Shopify is moving from React Native back to Swift and Kotlin
Which is why the topic about what Shopify does should apply to absolutely almost no one.

Who has more people/resources to justifiably throw at their native app than Shopify? Maybe a dozen companies?

SV_BubbleTime··on Shopify is moving from React Native back to Swift and Kotlin
LOL, flutter/dart are pretty awesome and we have yet to encounter something that needed improvement.

We have small shims for IOS or Android BLE. But otherwise the discussion of should you go native is really a discussion of how many employees do you have to throw with this?

SV_BubbleTime··on Shopify is moving from React Native back to Swift and Kotlin
Still loving flutter over here!

The vastly undersold topic to all of these is how many developers do you have?

We have the option of using flutter, or not launching an app at all. The concept of going full native is a non-starter.

I basically could not care what Shopify is doing because they have hundreds or thousands of people.
