I'm not saying that you're wrong, just implying that it's not right.

Yeah, because you as the shareholder are worth more to the company and society than the people at the company.

That was great, thank you for sharing that.

I like to share this because not everybody is aware. If you can count it, it's fewer. Fewer employees, but less salt.

It's actually not that hard if you change how you eat an apple. Don't eat around the core, and there won't be any core left at the end.

Most recently spent eight years as a software engineering manager, but I have over 15 years of experience building software in many domains, from game development to defense simulation to oil and gas to medical devices. I have done board design, built game engines, captured spherical video from high altitude balloons, and so many other things. I am looking for a small team to join or lead building something exciting with new problems to solve, but am also happy building things to requirements. Let's talk!

I am currently a software engineering manager but I have over 15 years of experience building software in many domains, from game development to defense simulation to oil and gas to medical devices. I have done board design, built game engines, captured spherical video from high altitude balloons, and so many other things. RobotCaleb··on Ask HN: What are you working on (August 2024)?
Very cool!
RobotCaleb··on Ask HN: What are you working on (August 2024)?
No, I haven't considered alignment. I think they're pretty well aligned already, but honestly haven't thought about it much at all.
RobotCaleb··on Ask HN: What are you working on (August 2024)?
I am building a belt tension meter to attach my z-belt idlers to on my voron 2.4.

I'm still contemplating what I want the final form to look like, but currently it's a 5 kg load cell and a floating idler and an rp2040 reading values via hx711.

RobotCaleb··on Controlling the Taylor Swift Eras Tour wristbands with Flipper Zero
A friend and I built a proof of concept of a similar thing. We could do almost per pixel playback of video on the audience without the K-pop Bluetooth style setup or assigned seats. We used computer vision and infrared beacons and timing groups to expand out to tens of thousands of them.
RobotCaleb··on NYU professors who defended vaping didn't disclose ties to Juul
Yes! I wholeheartedly agree. You can only quit once. You may have stopped before, but if you ever pick it back up then you didn't quit.

Turning quit into a waffle word takes away its impact and probably eases some psychological constraints for people.

RobotCaleb··on Show HN: Galactic Compass – an app that points to the galactic center
Surely you don't need the phone's actual latitude and longitude. I can't imagine that the direction to a point infinitely (basically) far away will be different depending on where on this tiny planet you're standing. I'm sure just using the Earth's position (or any other position in our solar system?) would be sufficient to get a valid pointing vector.
