Right. And instead of changing school to adapt to kids (e.g., less sitting in chairs, more free play), we change kids to adapt to school (e.g., medicate, discipline, hold back).
Our approach is completely backwards.
This is what it's like:

"The father buys, the son builds, the grandchild sells, and his son begs"
The grandchildren are too far removed from what it took to raise the golden cow. So they just milk it.
China: Wealth does not survive three generations
Japan: The third generation ruins the house
Italy: From stables to stars to stables
Australia: From goon to Grange to goon
England: Clogs to clogs is only three generations
Scotland: The father buys, the son builds, the grandchild sells, and his son begs
More money isn't always the answer. Maybe the answer lies elsewhere...
That's exactly it. Let's say you bought at $0.01. What are the odds you would have held on until the price per coin hit $10,000? Or $1,000? Or even $100?
He's playing a positive sum game - his ventures are growing the pie and moving us toward a better future (e.g., sustainable energy).
Focus on the rent seekers, not the pie growers.

Contrast that with leaders who are welcoming to tech and would be happy to be the next Silicon Valley:
“You get really tired of hot dogs and oranges after awhile,” he said. “And of course pasta and a green pepper and a big thing of sauce. And that can go pretty far, too.
“So it’s like, ‘Oh, okay, if I can live for a dollar a day then at least from a food cost standpoint, well it’s pretty easy to earn like $30 in a month anyway, so I’ll probably be okay.’ “
This isn’t the only example of a young Musk roughing it. When he started his first company, Zip2, he and his brother slept in their office instead of renting an apartment. They showered at the YMCA.
“We were so hard up, we had just one computer so the Web site was up during the day and I was coding at night,” Musk recalled during a commencement speech at USC. “Seven days a week, all the time.”

But now Apple has weakened the case that 30% is industry standard, so hopefully they'll budge. And I think you're right that they'll eventually align.
It's unfortunate that Valve could have easily been a leader on this front. Now they'll be a late follower at best.
Valve next, please.

Andrew Yang had a better idea. Put a VAT on big tech and use that to fund UBI.
Yes. Fortunately we're almost there. In the US we have majority support (68%) and is just a matter of time before it's fully legalized.
