Radle··on Fable 5 On Vending-Bench: Misbehaving, With Plausible Deniability
„in our opinion, insurance fraud is not more unethical than lying and price fixing“

The authors seem surprised that behavior that is very often done by humans (lying and price fixing) are more often done by fable compared to actual fraud.

I think the model never assigned any morality to these actions in the first place, it simply copied us humans.

Radle··on The European Social Stack
"On the contrary, they are too accessible due to enormous tuition bills and federally guaranteed student loans (which cannot be discharged in bankruptcy). This toxic combination saddles many graduates with debt they will struggle to pay off for decades. Almost as if it was intended to create a modern form of debt slave."

How about making universities accessible without federally guaranteed studen loans? Debt slaving doesn't mean accessibility.

Radle··on The European Social Stack
Yes, but us universities aren’t financially accessible to most people and access depends more on connections and families than merit.

But your link also is only relevant to the university system.

It doesn’t change the fact that the non university part of education is severely financially crippled in major areas of the country in order to hinder black people from getting proper education.

Combined with a burnout introducing system of standardized tests the us educational system is truly world leading. At demonstrating how NOT to do education.

Radle··on The European Social Stack
We europeans can do more than regulate, your statement is just plain offensive.

You would now that if you ever went to a proper school. Those unfortunately are not widely available on your side of the pond.

Radle··on FBI arrests CIA official with $40M in gold bars in his home
From last November to March, the court papers say, Mr. Rush asked for, and received, “a significant quantity of foreign currency and tens of millions of dollars in gold bars for work-related expenses.”

Obvious plant nobody would be that stupid to store the valuables at home within the first six months after the „acquisition“.

——

Also the CIA was unable to confirm his discharge with the navy earlier? As if people aren’t properly vetted every time they switch jobs within the agency. (Especially considering his CIA career was on an upward trajectory)

I have no clue what Mr. Rush actually did but it was neither of these two things which earned him ire.

Maybe he’s a traitor and the gold + foreign money are bribes. If the CIA doesn’t want to explain what he‘s been bribed for the charges make a more sense.

Radle··on Was my $48K GPU server worth it?
"If I were to do this again, I wouldn’t do a custom build like this. I would buy a standard datacenter server and rent space in a colocation center. But then I would miss saying Hi to grumbl once in a while."
Radle··on Write less code, be more responsible
My repos for personal projects are split in two. One side contains code of better quality than I could write myself. The other side is throwaway vibe-coded shit that works somehow.
Radle··on Woman in Labor at Florida Hospital Brought in Zoom Court for Refusing C-Section
“You’re somebody who is a bad mother, right?” Mutcherson said. “Which is a huge part of what the thought process is here. This is not what mothers do. Mothers sacrifice, including allowing somebody to cut you open.”

You Americans have completely lost it.

Radle··on 4Chan mocks £520k fine for UK online safety breaches
Or these are oranges and apples, and your perspective is simply blurred because you are starting a fight whenever someone wants you to put up your glasses. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Radle··on Warranty Void If Regenerated
We really need to stop thinking that every AI assisted thing is bound to be slop. "Shit in Shit out" often Applies in reverse aswell.
Radle··on No right to relicense this project
the ai copy pasted the existing project. How can such a procedure not fall under copyright?

Especially now that ai can do this for any kind of intellectual property, like images, books or sourcecode. If judges would allow an ai rewrite to count as an original creation, copyright as we know it completely ends world wide.

Instead whats more likely is that no one is gonna buy that shit

Radle··on Gemini 3.1 Pro
The Indirection is on purpose, it works like a continued chain of thought.
Radle··on 11.8M EU citizens pay taxes to governments they cannot vote for
I am tiny bit angry reading this. Does the author believe he can just come into my country and by the mere fact of breathing has a right to vote in my countries election? This is madness if you aren't a citizen you don't get to vote..
Radle··on GOG: Linux "the next major frontier" for gaming as it works on a native client
Once Gaming hits Linux for real Windows will simply die. Explorer takes 10 seconds to open when the folder in question has a couple of Gigs, blue screen crashes are for some reason back in win11. The entire thing takes ages to boot.

It's simply to bloated.

Radle··on The $LANG Programming Language
Same! My first thoughts: "Is this language pronounced Lang or Slang? Slang is actually a cool name for a new programming language..."
Radle··on Decompiling the New C# 14 field Keyword
The trick with using characters which by definition are not allowed inside variable names, "<" and ">", should be sufficient no?
Radle··on Memory optimizations to reduce CPU costs
Only real programmers know how to do that.
Radle··on I tried vibe coding in BASIC and it didn't go well
I had way better results. I'd assume the same would have happened to the author if he provided the LLM with a full documentation on what ATARI BASIC is and some example programs.

Especially when asking the LLM to create a drawing program and a game the author would have probably received working code if he supplied the ai with documentation to the graphics function and sprite rendering using ATARI BASIC.

Radle··on Riding high in Germany on the world's oldest suspended railway
Huh, I didn’t even notice a new Club has opened.

There’s a free entry event on Thursday I’ll go and check out Open Ground.

Radle··on Riding high in Germany on the world's oldest suspended railway
I‘ve grown up in Wuppertal if you‘ve got and questions i‘d be happy to answer.
Radle··on US judge throws out FTC's ban on non-compete agreements
"She was the first African-American woman federal judge nominated by President Donald Trump", judges being appointed by politicians is a complete joke.
Radle··on Health industry company sues to prevent certificate revocation

Radle··on I designed my own keyboard layout. Was it worth it?

Radle··on Lobbyists begin chipping away at Biden’s $80B IRS overhaul
Consumption taxes hit low income people the hardest and also reduce consumption.

What you are suggesting is the biggest redestribution of wealth in US history, putting a lot more money into the super riches pockets.

It might also severly damage the US economy.

Radle··on Does monitoring your phone affect the essence of privacy?
Sorry for passing Ursula von der Leyen to the EU, this feels like a deja vu.
Radle··on Charlie Munger defends windowless dorm rooms for California students
There's more options for the students to live than this singular building.

There's nothing hindering students from renting an apartment, they don't have to use the 200$ million building.

Radle··on Facebook Should Halt Instagram Kids Plan, Attorneys General Say
The lawyers sound as if if kids aren't already using the internet.

It's fairly obvious that giving children a safe zone is still better than throwing them in the 18+ internet right?

Are there any arguments as to why a platform for under 13 y/o would be worse than these demographics using the normal platform?

Radle··on “They introduce kernel bugs on purpose”
@gregkh

These patches look like bombs under bridges to me.

Do you believe that some open source projects should have legal protection against such actors? The Linux Kernel is pretty much a piece of infrastructure that keeps the internet going.

Radle··on Denmark to cull millions of minks over mutated coronavirus
The animals are killed anyway for their fur.

What do you think mink farms are?

Radle··on TikTok to be banned from US app stores from Sunday
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

There's no evidence at all that software can in any capacity be speech as defined under the us constitution.
