True. Zone 1-2 depending on topography

Humans have not evolved from sitting. Ask your hip flexors.

It’s why walking is such a good exercise. 300 cals per hr and doesn’t destroy you. Burns fat (zone 2).

I’d suggest that calorific burn really is but one measure.

As someone who has done loads of different forms of exercise I am blown away by HIIT. 6 mins (not including 10-15 mins warm up) and I can feel the effects all day.

And as you get fitter you can just load more weight/exercise type.

Of course it comes with the taste of bile….

They can. It’s just very uncomfortable (other than those with genuine, real health problems)

Exercise is good. They should just post that everyday.
RHSman2··on Ketamine's effect on depression may hinge on hope
We sound similar. Incorporating said experiences into life is where the benefits lie I’d say.
RHSman2··on Ketamine's effect on depression may hinge on hope
I used it as have a good amount of experience being cold, tired and hungry!

And also trips. From my own experience I’d say they changed me profoundly. But I’d rather be cold, hungry and tired now thanks:)

RHSman2··on Ketamine's effect on depression may hinge on hope
I think that is the point: it helps us understand what life is. Aka absolutely incredible.

Like exercise can make you feel fantastic, these experiences ground you in the reality of existence.

If you’d had a crazy life experience that took you to the edge without said product, let’s say a full on mountaineering epic that bought close to the edge, would that remain in your consciousness and alter your being? Perhaps but data would suggest not or it has limited efficacy. There is something within these molecules that combine experiences and some change to alter awareness.

And you don’t need to mountaineer

I don’t argue. I am just portraying my view on what is possible in life. That maybe different to yours. That’s ok right? I recommend reading ‘Man’s search for meaning’ by Viktor Frankl. It is a landmark book.

We do have choice and most do take the lesser evil of IT and but if you really want, you can go look to see what else is out there.

It is not without risk though.

This isn’t binary. Either or. You can find people and companies you like to work with and it not be the ‘do what you love’.

As another note: there are times when you on the wave, part of something and there are good things happening. This only lasts so long. Again, applies in work and outside. Form your own view but be aware of cynicism (in others and yourself). This comes from broad experience of humanity. We are in the shit but there really are groups of incredible people that merged together, do amazing things. Find that.

Yup, but everything will reset. If a tree falls on earth and no humans exist, does it matter? Of course but entities that don’t have a sense of human importance and time aren’t attached like the virus we are.

This isn’t wrong or right. It is an opinion on how to live.

You aren’t forced too. You need to look up what ’forced’ really means. I’m not saying it isn’t hard though.

You search. Through experience after experience you realize what are the values that are important to you and you need to be around those that share it (and also an organization that has quality values) It may mean you will move from job to job but work is not life. This also applies in many aspects too. We are tribes.

When we only work for a salary we’ve lost sight of what it means to be alive. Move on, go somewhere you deserve to be. Find your people.
