Pungsnigel··on Show HN: CardanoCubes – Pokemon Red on the Cardano Blockchain
Yes, you're correct, and yes, it's the same concept as Twitch plays Pokemon.

Does there have to be an advantage? :) I thought it was a fun project, and a fun way of playing around with and learning about Cardano. It's basically not a project to convince people that blockchains are cool it's a project for people who already think so. If that makes sense?

I'm hoping to do more interactive (and cheaper) stuff once smart contracts are live. Would love to build something with chess at that point.

Nope, lowest amount is 1 ADA, transaction fees are usually around 0.17. I'd expect this to be lowered in the future. 1 ADA wasn't much until a few months ago really.

1 ADA is the lowest amount on the Cardano chain. I'd prefer it to be much lower for this game. I'm releasing an update soon where you'll be able to make multiple moves with one transaction (still 1 ADA), but that's the only way I've found to lower the cost of playing.

Cool! I’d love any feedback you have!

Don't know how many here have an interest in Cardano, but hopefully at least a few. Spent a few weekends building this, where we hook a gameboy emulator to the Cardano blockchain. Main idea is to allow for a community playthrough. Had there not been random elements in the game, you'd be able to re-play the entire playthrough locally by just applying the same rules we've done.

Pungsnigel··on Bill Gates Says that Bitcoin is bad For the Planet
I started with a combination of crypto basics + bitcoin and Cardano. The combination was great imo.
Pungsnigel··on Every $1 of BTC value responsible for $0.49 in health and climate damages in US
Still has usage as a potential store of value and a means of cheap global transfers. My mother in law use it monthly to transfer money to her home (third world) country, which is crazy easy and cheap compared to traditional means.

Yes and no. Higher savings would also mean more capital to load from. Expected return on investment would be higher, which is probably just a good thing. Lots of non-profitable companies today can keep surviving without doing any real good due to money being cheap.

Pungsnigel··on Jack Ma fell to earth and took Ant's mega IPO with him
I'd say normally it requires both, or extreme levels of either. Not sure normal rules apply under CCP though.

Pungsnigel··on America's Growth Ponzi Scheme
Keeping interest rates artificially low is a good way of making sure no one - companies included - keeps any cash at hand.

Or actually mean free market when we talk about "free markets". That is, we should make it very clear that the market rules shouldn't change to benefit specific corporations.

I'd guess most people think charity is better than taxes. Also, Apple has payed standard taxes for some time now.
Pungsnigel··on The Story of Apple's $14B Tax Bill
Sure. Because it is. Alternatives could be to simply tax transactions, tax capital, tax people or not taxing anyone at all.
Pungsnigel··on The Story of Apple's $14B Tax Bill
Its not really Apple's responsibility though.
Pungsnigel··on The Story of Apple's $14B Tax Bill
I've made no arguments about if its right or wrong to collect taxes.
Pungsnigel··on The Story of Apple's $14B Tax Bill
Doesn't have to be, no. There are other things to tax than corporations, people and transactions being the obvious candidates.
Pungsnigel··on The Story of Apple's $14B Tax Bill
Your conclusion does not follow from your the issue you outline. The unfair advantage could easily be removed by simply not taxing corporations at all. Taxing someone (or in this case, a whole bunch of people) just to keep them down seems like quite a bad motivation.
Pungsnigel··on I am not a self-made man
That's a common belief about Ayn Rand, but it's not correct. As long as they enjoyed helping him, or at least wanted to help him, she would not have objected in the slightest.
Pungsnigel··on I am not a self-made man
She wouldn't object to any part of it.
Pungsnigel··on Twitter suspends alt-right figureheads
How do you know the result of a completely different kind of election? The candidates would obviously campaign differently in the case you are describing.
Pungsnigel··on Twitter suspends alt-right figureheads
By their opponents anyway.
